Heather Mae Mounce is facing 62 counts of identity theft, 24 counts of criminal mistreatment and 10 other charges filed last week in the Polk County Circuit Court.

Mounce allegedly stole several thousands of dollars from the Dallas Retirement Village, Oregon Center for Nursing and OpenRoad Transportation, as well as the identity of an "elderly and dependent" man in her care, Antony Emil Britt, according to court documents.

She is accused of using Britt's information "with the intent to deceive or defraud, convert to defendant’s own use, create, obtain, possess, transfer and utter personal identification of" multiple businesses, such as Oregonian Media Group, Career Builder, Monster.com/Monster Worldwide and Survey Monkey, documents state.

The charges date back to September 2013 and continue until July 14.

Her arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 14. She has not been arrested.

Polk County District Attorney Aaron Felton said law enforcement began investigating the case in 2017. He declined to comment further.

Court records show Davison filed for divorce three months later, in November 2017, citing irreconcilable differences.

Mounce's attorney, Jeffrey Jones, told NBC4 sister station KOIN on Wednesday that he's "in the dark" on the charges. Jones said, consistent with Polk County practices, he and his client would be entering a not guilty plea at the first court appearance in August. Jones said he did not know Mounce and was contacted after she had been charged.

I would like to think that the police aren't arresting her because they're giving her just what she wanted, attention! Social negative attention! And she is out in the community and can feel the humiliation.

If she hadn't pulled this stunt, they possibly would have never known about the other thefts and charges that they made.

Her downfall in this job was her honeymoon. She was gone a week and when someone else was doing the books (probably one of the owners) red flags were popping up right and left.

There was this one chick in Ohio? that embezzled 63 million dollars from the town (I think she was the town accountant) the only reason she got caught is she took 2 weeks off for a horse show. And that was how she bought high end show horse, RVs, trailers,
tack and so forth.

Polk County Circuit Judge Monte Campbell placed Heather Mounce into custody at the Polk County Jail on $200,000 bail on Tuesday morning.

Her attorney Jeff Jones, of Salem, resigned following Tuesday’s court date.

He revoked the release agreement she signed on Aug. 14.

... I have a feeling she's going to sell her rights to her story, to get the bail money. media will pay her bail, in my opinion.

AFAIK The Coast Guard does not bill for rescues. It’s what they do, even if the person they rescue did something foolish. Heather’s case is somewhere between foolish and a hoax, which they do bill. But I doubt they will, and if they do, they won’t collect.

Yes she has problems and yes she probably will not have to pay for any rescue bill BUT she purposely staged her disappearance and acted like a victim of an accident. She wasted valuable resources. JMO
