It appears Susan is an optometrist:

    "Susan M Behrens, O.D.

Family Vision welcomes Dr. Susan Behrens, a native of St. Louis, MO. Dr. Behrens received a Bachelors degree from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO, moved to Texas. She graduated from the University of Incarnate Word, School of Optometry in San Antonio in 2013. Dr. Behrens enjoys living near the beach and mountain biking."

This information is from the website of an eye care provider located in Corpus Christi, TX. I don't seem to be able to find any information as to where Dr. Behrens may be practicing in OR, however. Maybe she was about to start at a new practice in OR?

ETA: It seems like Dr. Behrens might have been reported missing sooner if she was due at work. Perhaps she was on vacation last week, and her employer became concerned when she didn't return to the office on Monday?

It is always upsetting to see someone missing on trails. I really hope she can be found okay.

The allure of these trails in the Multnomah area just so enticing for anyone that loves to get out there an be in spectacular scenery.

Eagle Creek trail was my very favorite trail for many good reasons. It is the favorite of many hikers. The amount of water falls and having a destination of Tunnel falls at the turn around 6 mile point was always the icing on the cake. I have hiked it over 20 times, in all kinds of weather. It is a flat hike, but one of steep points where it drops off one side. Someone could easily slip in so many places. I also used to make my way down to the creek in different places to take pictures. If anything happened, I would have been very difficult to find as I hiked alone but always had a couple dogs with me.

I'm so sad to come here today and find out that she was found deceased. As her family stated, she was doing what she loved. So tragic though.

    RIP Susan.
