Where was that one kid's truck found? The one that went missing last year after reading "Into the Wild?"
Jonathan Croom was found deceased in 2013.
Not Johnathon Croom. The other teenage boy that went missing in Oregon after reading "Into the Wild."
For some reason I thought Umatilla county was either Harney or Malhuer. I didn't realize it was north. I'm kind of a bad Oregonian.
So no ID yet. And no sense of urgency, apparently.
The Portland-metro area and the Eugene-metro area are the only counties with any money right now. Deschutes has a tiny bit of money but not much. Hell, Columbia county has so little money that a group of people who robbed a restaurant at gunpoint are on house-arrest because they can't afford to put them in a jail.
Oregon's hurting, bad. They probably want to help and find out as soon as possible, but money controls everything around us.
Byron's grandparents wrote a letter to the editor back in 2008:
Sounds like the guy threatening to kill Byron was part of the "Good Old Boys" club in that small town. I hope that if he was murdered that the murderer is found and tried. But the bones were out in the open for almost nine years, cause of death is going to be very hard to determine. Even if there were a bullet hole or a stab mark, it could easily be misidentified as post-mortem animal marks. :/
If a bullet went through a bone, it can be traced. Let's hope there's something more at the scene that wasn't disclosed in the article, if he was indeed murdered.
