"The Oscar-winning composer behind Titanic hit “My Heart Will Go On”, James Horner, is missing, feared dead, after a plane registered in his name was found crashed and burning near Santa Barbara, California.

Only the pilot was aboard the plane when it crashed. It is not confirmed whether Horner, 61 years-old and a keen aviator, was the pilot"

Jay Cooper, Horner's attorney, said later in the day that no one had heard from Horner and that 'if he wasn't in it, he would have called'
Horner, 61, won two Oscars for his work on Titanic, and frequently collaborated with the film's director, James Cameron
He and his wife Sarah have two daughters
When reached at their Calabasas, California home, a family member asked for privacy at this time

James Horner was an honorary member of the Bremont Horsemen Air Demonstration Team (the 4th. Horseman) and he wrote the music score for "The Horseman" played during their P-51 Mustang performances.

In this 2010 video he talks about scoring the music and how he was learning to fly the P-51 and had hoped to be able to fly it to his own music score some day (don't know if he realized his dream).

He was obviously an incredibly talented person and his death is a great loss.

Oh wow, I didn't know he was also behind 'somewhere out there'. That's a beautiful song.
