So the brother who died of 3rd degree burns after allegedly starting the arson fire was found dead 3 miles away from the burning house. How does that happen? Where was the defendant while the dead brother was leaving the scene? Weird.

Scranton man pleads guilty in arson plot that killed brother

A city man whose brother suffered fatal burns in a 2015 arson-for-hire plot that went awry pleaded guilty Friday to third-degree murder in his death.

Diomedes A. Ceballos, 60, entered the plea during a brief appearance before Lackawanna County President Judge Michael J. Barrasse. Ceballos also pleaded guilty to an aggravated arson charge related to injuries suffered by a firefighter while battling the two-alarm fire in West Scranton.

Investigators accused Ceballos of hiring his brother, Aurelio Ceballos, to torch his home at 319 12th Ave. on July 18, 2015, in an attempt to collect on a $500,000 insurance policy.
