State police are asking the public’s help in searching for a woman in the early stages of dementia who walked away from home Tuesday evening and has not been seen since.

Diane Heist is 64 years old and generally in good health, but police warn she may be confused and at a special risk for injury. She was last seen around 7 p.m. Tuesday at her house on the 3100 block of Berry Lane, off Snow Hill Road in Price Township, Monroe County.

She walked off around 7:30 wearing dark clothing and gray sneakers, police said.

Police are considering Heist a missing and endangered person. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Stroudsburg barracks at 570-619-6800.
