Human remains found in retention pond in Montgomery County, police say

Police in Towamencin Township, near Lansdale, found human remains after, they say surveyors working near the intersection of Welsh Road and Grist Mill Drive spotted a skull in a retention pond on Monday morning.

Law enforcement officials in Montgomery County are investigating after human remains were found in a retention pond after workers in Towamencin Township discovered a skull there on Tuesday morning.

According to police, the incident began when officers were called at about 11:58 a.m. on Tuesday after surveyor crews working in the area of Welsh Road and Grist Mill Drive found, what they believed, was a human [skull] in a retention basin at that location.

In just one hour, Delaney determined the remains were those of a man who was at least 40 years old and 5' 6" tall with healed trauma to his rib cage.

Delaney said her next step will be to upload her report to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System database to hopefully find a match.

Investigators hope clothing can help identify human remains found in Montgomery County

The Montgomery County Coroner said finding human skeletal remains in the area are extremely rare.

I would assume they meant healed as in old wounds that were not part of how they ended up in the water.
