Crackers? Are you kidding me? How about getting them someplace safe where they weren't abused and starved? Somewhere they could've had actual MEALS.Here's an article on Butler's Tuesday hearing.
Pa. man tried to sneak crackers to 2 girls who were starved to death: testimony
Ronald Butler is seeking dismissal of his charges related to the starvation deaths of two young sisters and release on nominal bail.www.pennlive.com
Sept. 28, 2022
WILLIAMSPORT – The father of one of the two women accused of intentionally starving to death two young Lycoming County sisters claims he tried to sneak crackers to them.
That became known Tuesday at a hearing for Ronald R. Butler, 54, who is seeking dismissal of his charges and release on nominal bail.
District Attorney Ryan C. Gardner acknowledged an incarcerated defendant not brought to trial within 180 days as is the case with Butler is eligible for release on nominal bail.
Judge Nancy L. Butts indicated if she granted the bail motion that Butler would be precluded from contacting witnesses and co-defendants and have unsupervised contact with children.
[.....]
The judge heard testimony but deferred ruling on defense attorney Matthew A. Diemer’s motion to dismiss the charges on the grounds the prosecution failed to present sufficient evidence at the preliminary hearing.
[.....]
Among the witnesses at Tuesday’s hearing was Justin Nichols who said Ronald Butler flagged him down when he drove several people to Livermore Road after it became known the bodies had been unearthed.
[.....]
Diemer argued there was no evidence Butler had a duty to care for the girls thus the endangering charges should be dismissed.
Gardner cited Snyder’s testimony at the preliminary hearing that Butler and his wife Michele were in charge of the girls when Echo Butler and she went out.
Diemer also argued Butler was unaware Jasmine was being starved because it occurred at a Catherine Street address in Williamsport. The girl died there in August 2017.
Yes, that's the only thing on the docket for him.Thank you that article @PommyMommy -
I have his next hearing on 12/13/22 as pretrial.
Is that what the court site has?
