PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A Philadelphia woman separated from her family by the Nazis is preparing for a reunion with a brother she hasn't seen in 66 years.Irene Famulak (FAM'-yoo-lak) was 17 and when the Nazis invaded the Ukrainian Catholic family's home in 1942. Famulak was sent to be a cook in Germany and never saw another family member again. But that's about to change.
The Red Cross says the 83-year-old's youngest brother Sevelud (SEV'-eh-lood) has turned up in Germany trying to trace his sister.
Irene Famulak's daughter says the family will now plan a reunion.

LinasK, what a great story to read. Thank God for them finding each other, as the years are climbing upon them.

My father was killed in WWII, actually no body was ever found and for many years my mom and his family held out hope that he was alive and being held prisoner somewhere. Never happened-

Oh my goodness! I can't even imagine! This sister and brother haven't seen each other in 66 years! I thank God they they finally did find one another. How wonderful! what a sweet reunion they'll enjoy.

LaMer, how sad for your family.
Your mother and your dad's family kept hoping above hope for years! Those years, I'm sure were so difficult for all.

Oh how I wish your family had experienced a miracle also, LaMer.
I am so very sorry.
Love from sweetmop:blowkiss:

To sweetmop :blowkiss: Thank you for your kind thoughts. :)

LaMer

I'm so overjoyed tho, for the wonderful reuniting of the brother and the sister! Surely something to smile about! :)
