LOVELAND, Colo. -- Colorado residents in Loveland, Greeley, Fort Collins and Larimer County have been seeing notices warning them of a sex offender moving into their neighborhood and telling them to log on to a Web site to learn more.

However, when people do log on to the paid site, it asks them for money to find out more about the sex offender and authorities said that kind of information is available for free online.

The note, which had been taped on front doors and left on peoples' car windows, advertises the Web site NeighborhoodRedAlert.com.

Someone's trying to make money off of free information! Happens all the time.
