Though the article about Joran being in Columbia on May 6 may have been inaccurate... Tim Miller is backing up what they are saying about the two girls missing from a Casino in Columbia during the time that Joran was there. He says that Jossy Mansur (I believe that's who he said) got a phone call from Columbia that they were coming to Peru to question Joran about the two girls missing from Columbia.

I've found exactly zero references to this missing Colombian girls story from any credible source.

It hasn't been confirmed anywhere, and only shows up on a few blogs.

Me either. What were they doing for three hours in that little room, if there was no sex? I guess they could have been talking, but they were up all night- weren't they exhausted? I really do think it makes more sense that he killed her before the trip out for coffee.

If JVS was doing marijuana...is it possible that the we are over thinking the reason Stephany went to his hotel room?

Using your post to jump off Lab :)...it may be that Stephany went to his hotel to smoke or buy weed?

Can completely remove the sexual equasion.

This is just MO, but I really think the sex angle here is a dead end/red herring. IMO, the most likely reason she went to his room was to smoke pot. Either he had some and she didn't or vice/versa, so they decided to go to his hotel room since it was a private place where they could smoke. I know some people may think it sounds far fetched to say that she would have returned with him to his hotel room alone, considering they had just met, but I don't think its far fetched at all. If they had been playing at the same casino table for several hours they would have had plenty of time to become somewhat comfortable with each other, especially if they were both drinking. We already know JVS was a smoker and its reasonable to assume Stephany was at least a casual smoker or at least accepted it when it was offered. I'm not sure we will ever know the entire truth about what happened once they were in his room together, but I think there may be some truth sprinkled into his explanation of what happened. He obviously killed her in a violent, brutal manner that had some anger behind it, but that anger could have been sparked by any number of different things. He was/is a spoiled brat who may very well have a hair trigger temper that is easily tripped, especially by women. Stephany may or may not have "done" anything to cause JVS to feel legitimate anger, but he definitely had anger/rage inside him as he was killing her.

OMG..I am embarrASSED NOW! Just hit post and reading backwards...sorry elainebenice, you already posted this idea!

i dont think it was a sexual thing either...but their are similarities in physical appearance between sf and nh and in my opinion nh looks very much like jvds mother anita... moo

But Only Peru considers cannabis to be a legal drug, provided you are not in possession of another drug. I get the impression that throughout Latin America, the tolerance doesn’t typically extend to tourists, especially if the police can get a bribe out of it, but you should never travel with pot and risk being searched.

So you're right - they could have gone back to his room, or sat in her car to smoke (and celebrate). I wonder if there's any residue left behind.

Interesting --

anita van der sloot and nh (i think nh and anita van der sloot resemble each other)... i have no idea how to embed images...sorry :(

i guess all im getting at is that jvds is warped and that has more to do with any of this than if sf hit him first or invaded his "space" or if he smoked a doob before all this went down.... i really believe that he is mental.

If VDS gets out before a friend of mine serving time for pot, I will knawl my foot off.. To say that you can take a life and....,,,I quit... I'm walking away from the computer now...sorry.:(

That is a very interesting article, the prison does sound like the worst as stated. It also sounds like Joran could possibly end up hurt or death the 1st day.

The prison sure sounds awful!! Only 3 out of 10 get a bed, 1 shower once a week, no toilets! A friend of mine from work is from Peru and says that because this is a high profile case they would probably separate JVS from the rest of the prison population. Not sure if this is true. I would prefer to see him live a long, miserable life.

Interesting for sure. Will be interesting to see how it pans out....

However, on Issues last night, Jean contacted a CNN rep in Columbia to check to see if two girls were missing in Columbia. The CNN rep checked with authorites and verified they were not looking for two girls in Columbia. Jane went back to Tim Miller ...

Straight out to Jean Casarez, correspondent for "In Session" who is live outside the hotel where Stephany died. And we`re covering breaking news that came in while we were on this show about two missing women allegedly in Colombia and a possible connection to Joran. But we have no independent confirmation.

Jean Casarez, what have you found out?

JEAN CASAREZ, CORRESPONDENT, "IN SESSION": Well, what we`ve done, we have been able to contact correspondents for CNN in Colombia. And here is the e-mail we received back from them. They checked with authorities and say there is nothing to it. According Colombian police and Colombian attorney general`s office, there is no disappearance currently being investigated in Bogota or no investigation in Colombia in general in connection with Joran Van Der Sloot.

That`s what they are officially saying in Colombia. Of course when you say investigation, possibly just questioning is not tantamount to a full investigation at this point. But this is what information we`re getting from the law enforcement in Colombia tonight.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: All right. So they would know if there were two women missing in Colombia and apparently we`re not hearing that.

So Mike Brooks, it`s a good thing that we have Jean Casarez there in Peru to check this stuff out.

BROOKS: She is the best, that`s for sure. We`re glad to have her on "In Session" that`s for sure. But then again, it`s not over with him. We`re going to have to go back, take a look at his passports, as said earlier, follow that paper trail and see exactly where he has been and when he was there.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Tim Miller, you`re the one who gave us this report that you had heard from Jossy Mansur who is the editor of "Diario" newspaper in Aruba that the authorities in Colombia had launched an investigation because two women were missing in a casino in Colombia.

Now we`re hearing from Jean Casarez that Colombian authorities are saying it isn`t happening. Now, we know in cases like this, I call it urban myth. Things, they sort of take on a life of their own. Is it possible that Jossy is simply wrong or his sources are bad? Because we`re getting conflicting information here.

MILLER: It`s possible that it is. I know that he was going to run that story tomorrow morning in his newspaper. And again while I was there he did get a phone call which stated that authorities were going to -- and in fact had getting to Peru to go ahead and talk to Joran Van Der Sloot. That was, I must say, three or four hours ago.
Also your caller said that it was also aired on a Spanish TV station.

snipped from above article:
http://www.aolnews.com/crime/articl...an-van-der-sloots-alleged-confession/19508576

"There are 35 guys in a room there," he says. "They don't have beds, they go to the bathroom on the floor and the showers run once a week for 15 minutes. Fifty percent of the inmates have AIDS or tuberculosis, and you can die from eating the food."

If convicted and sent to Lurigancho, van der Sloot would be in considerable danger, Griffith says. "Let me put it to you like this," he says. "You have 10,000 guys in a prison with 3,000 beds. Eighty percent of these guys have nothing. A hundred bucks will carry them for four months, so they'll stand in line [to be paid] to cut his throat."

Can mommy or Aruba keep him out of this situation?
Money talks..........how much money does mommy have?
Do they even have 1 prisoner cells?
What conditions is he in right now?
I do not feel sorry for him.
JVS is worldly and knows what countries were tough and what countries were like Aruba.
JVS should of stayed with mom, in Aruba or Netherlands if he wanted pampered.
What is his motive for hating women so much???

THANKS TO WINGS OF LIGHT! YOU ARE THE BEST!! :woohoo:

I would like to know how full the hotel was that fateful night.
I cannot believe that no one heard all the commotion in that room.
No screams?
We know that she was alive from the bruises and then killed.
and no one SMELLED a decomp body in the hall way?
She was there 2 days???
The lady that found her calmly shut off TV and lights?
Has she seen murders before?
I would of ran out screaming my head off for help and never return!!!

Still waiting for the video that shows Joran going out for coffee and bread. What I am really interested in is his demeanor and what he is wearing.
