<!--startindex-->WABASH, Ind. -- A Kansas man faces drug charges, accused by police of trying to distract a drug dog by throwing dog biscuits out of his car window.

Indiana State Police said Jong H. Kim, 23, of Overland Park, Kan., was stopped on Wednesday for speeding.Police said Kim was uncooperative, nervous and vomiting. When a drug dog arrived at the scene, police said Kim tossed debris and dog biscuits toward the dog in an apparent attempt to distract the K-9.

The dog alerted police to the possible presence of drugs in Kim's car.

Police said they removed Kim from the vehicle by force and conducted a search.

Officials said they uncovered about 75 grams of marijuana hidden in the vehicle and that Kim also had marijuana in his system. more at link:http://www.ktvu.com/irresistible/4979413/detail.html

That is a relief! Whew! Just think what that 2 oz. of pot could have done if it were not for that brave dog/cop team? I will certainly sleep better tonight, knowing it's a safer place, and seeing our tax dollars doing some real good for a change..mpi

Even in Canada, with the proposed legislation at the Federal Level this person who had more than two ounces(actually 2.67 ounces) would have been charged and not just given a fine and a ticket.

The proposed leglislation in Canada is you will get a ticket for anything less than 15 grams which is about a half ounce.

No criminal record, just a fine and a ticket.....you can mail in a cheque.........

LE tends to find it a waste of time to charge people with simple possession, clears up the resources for more serious criminal charges to be heard before the courts......

That's a much more resonable approach. Here in the US, we waste millions locking people up for any amount of pot, while tying up our legal system so that important issues aren't heard...mpi
