I dug out this old post by Bluecrab because Cleve Backster is mentioned in it. Backster is a famous polygraph expert. Does anyone know what ecaxtly Backster 'verified' here? Did he ask the Ramseys the same questions? Was he paid by them?
And didn't the Ramseys refuse to take a polygraph test by the FBI?
And didn't Patsy flunk a polygraph test (administered by Toriello) just prior to the test done by Gelb?
Was it Gelb who agreed to test Patsy although she was full of tranquilizers which mute the body's response to stimuli? Isn't such a polygraph test totally worthless? I wonder if Backster knew that Patsy was full of sedatives.

The facts about these series of polygraph tests elude me. Can anyone list dates, outcomes and participants of each polygraph test the Ramsey's took?

On this particular subject it is hard to find information. This point about Patsy being on sedative medication is potentially crucial in terms of polygraph outcomes. John was on antidepressants. Was he ever on sedatives? Would it be possible to appropriate sedative medication prior to polygraph testing in order to create false reaction to the questions? Are people tested for meds in their blood prior to taking a polygraph?

No not dates but the earliest info we have is of them contacting Gene Parker who told them that he would insist on urine tests. They did not pursue him as a polygrapher.

Then they took tests with Gerry Toriello which were inconclusive and he referred them to Ed Gelb. They passed the tests with Ed and only then did they announce to the world that they'd passed their polygraphs.

jameson falsely posted that the test with gerry Toriello had been inconclusive because of "polygrapher error". She later admitted this was not the case but did not explain why she made the statement in the first place.

Might have been. Can't remember right now.

    They are indeed tested.

And I think it's possible that they could do that, not that it matters. Anyone can beat those things, luckyeight. All you have to do is believe what you say, and after three years, that's not hard. Plenty of time to convince yourself of your innocence. It's self-hypnosis.

And lets not forget the video of Patsy and John running across the street (she in her blue suit) to address the press about her passing the test.
