A toast today to the Peasants Revolt heroes, to Wat Tyler, to John Ball and Jack Straw. A toast to the spirit of 1381!

A toast to Gladstone and a toast to Dizzy, a toast to Sheridan and a toast to Wilkes; a toast to Henry V and to the English dead at Agincourt. A toast to Lloyd George and a toast to Churchill, and a toast to the English kingdom that saved the world.

Byron, Mary Shelley, the Brontes, the PRB, Townsend-Warner, Bowie, Rossettis, the Clash and the Pistols, just a few of my cultural heroes that I would raise a toast to, gin of course

To Earl Oxford, Edward de Vere, who wrote the works of "Shakespeare";

To Mad Mary Lamb and to her brother Charles;

To William Blake;

To John Betjeman and to Philip Larkin;

To Dr Johnson and James Boswell, to Percy Shelley and John Keats, to Leigh Hunt and John Clare: a toast to Great Britain.

Well I just love all the pomp, respect, jewels, crowns, gowns, carriages and horses horses horses!
I also think her royal highness has loosened up since her grandchildren have grown. They have I think opened her eyes to what the young are thinking.
Charles always seemed to be stuck in the mud.....lol
Thank you all for the pictures!

I am orf to pour a large gin, more news as it happens

Here is a comprehensive list of DOE's gaffes

This is just a small appetizer;
17. "There's a lot of your family in tonight." After glancing at business chief Atul Patel's name badge during a 2009 Buckingham Palace reception for 400 influential British Indians to meet the Royal couple.

18. "If it has four legs and it is not a chair, if it has got two wings and it flies but is not an aeroplane and if it swims and it is not a submarine, the Cantonese will eat it." Said to a World Wildlife Fund meeting in 1986.

19. "You ARE a woman, aren't you?" To a woman in Kenya in 1984, after accepting a gift.
