640 cases reported in U.S.

U.S. health officials are warning consumers to throw away onions linked to a Salmonella outbreak reported in more than 40 states.

Do not eat, serve, or sell recalled onions from Thomson International, Inc., or food made with these onions. Onion types include red, white, yellow, and sweet yellow varieties. Other companies have also issued recalls of foods, like chicken salads, made with recalled onions...
 
FDA says onions from Trader Joe's, salsa products now included in salmonella outbreak

There have been 640 reported cases of salmonella in 43 states linked to red, white, yellow and sweet onions distributed by Thomson International.

The outbreak of salmonella linked to onions has prompted a recall of Spokane Produce's salsa products, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

The products include 15 oz. jars of Saddlin' Up Salsa Hot, Medium and Mild, as well as Salsa Verde in 15 oz. and gallon size containers. The best buy dates range from Aug. 16 to Sept. 30...
