At first glance that looks like a very good potential match to me, and the timeline works.

Barbara Jean Monaco, missing from Virginia Beach, VA August 20, 1978. 18 YOA

This picture in particular looks similar to our red sweater girl (then again, maybe it's just because she has on a red sweater, lol)

Alcala was back on the east coast in 77, was he still there in August of 1978? Wait a minute, one wouldn't be wearing a sweater there in VA in August of 78 would they?

This looks like one of the few sets of pictures that were done as a modeling session, not a candid snapshot. If so, her sweater might have been chosen for it's looks regardless of the time of year.

Yes. Also, That's a very thin sweater -- so thin I'm surprised they didn't crop it. I remember when those were in style, in about 1972. We wore them in all but the hottest weather.

Could this be Robin Ann Graham, Missing Since: November 14, 1970 from Los Angeles, California ? The girl in the red sweater and Robin's facial features look very much alike. Look at the eyebrows, almost exact!

I'm not sure what web site you found this on, but the one you linked to is one of the ones WS policy doesn't allow direct links to. That's why it shows up with asterisks. Is she on one of the regular missing persons sites?

Couldn't get your link to work for me. Funny, but I think it's the eyebrows that are one of things that would make me think it's NOT Robin. Robin's go straight across and the Alcala gal's definitely go up and arch. JMO

Sorry about that bad link Billylee. It is my 1st time posting and I made a mistake in posting that link.

Welcome! And thanks for suggesting Robin. She looks pretty close to me. I attached thumbnails for comparison. If you go to the large picture at http://cnnnancygrace.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/00781.jpg and zoom in on the sweater girl's eyebrows, you can see a LOT of cosmetics and grooming went into those pretty perfect arches, so I wouldn't rule it out on just that.

There is something peculiar about the photos of this young woman. At first, I thought she purposely created an odd make-up style around her eyes. But then I took all the photos she was in and zoomed in on her eyes, and the make-up.

In the first photo, you can she was upset about something and was crying. You can see tears under her left, lower eyelid. It's quite obvious her running mascara had created this peculiar look. Because of this, I get the impression she was told to leave it alone as it is seen the same way in the other photos as well.

The tears under her left, lower eyelid can be seen, and the damp eyelashes where the mascara has washed away.

She looks a little similar to Cynthia May Hernandez to me. But the eyebrows may be a little different though. I read somewhere that a woman was approached by a photographer or a person posed as such in the theater where Cynthia went missing a few days before her disappearance but I can't remember where I read this :( . It's possible I'm mixing up this case with another one though.

Sorry I don't know how to post pictures... :)

I am confused. Where did these pics come from and what exactly is the case?

Photos from Rodney Alcala's storage locker

Deputy District Attorney Matt Murphy of Orange County California is asking for the public's help in identifying women, young men, and children in dozens of photos seized when detectives searched a storage locker that Rodney Alcala rented in Seattle. If you know who any of these people are, please contact Huntington Beach police detective Patrick Ellis, at 714-375-5066, or email at pellis@hbpd.org. Images were shot before July 1979.

Rodney Alcala is a serial murderer convicted of killing 4 adult women and one 12-year old girl in California, and he is about to go on trial for the murder of two additional women in New York. One additional murder of a woman in California has been connected to Alcala, but he has not been charged for that one.

All murders occurred during the 1960's and 1970's
