Detroit — Police are searching for a head hunter of sorts after life-sized bobblehead statues of Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard and Red Wing center Pavel Datsyuk were discovered headless.

Police were dispatched at 5 a.m. Wednesday morning to Campus Martius to investigate the latest whodunit involving the bobblehead made in Howard’s likeness, according to Sgt. Michael Woody.

Vandals apparently made off with Datsyuk’s head last week, according to Greg Hammaren, general manager for Fox Sports Detroit...

DETROIT -
Jimmy Howard's head has been found, or at least the one off his life-size bobblehead.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig says one person is in custody, but more people are being sought, after the appendage was taken from the likeness of the Red Wings goalie in Campus Martius Park.

Craig said a tip led Allen Park police to find the head. Allen Park residents said they saw people walking around with the head on their heads...

Detroit — Allen Park police have recovered the stolen head belonging to the life-sized Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard bobblehead statue that was stolen Thursday morning.

A man in his 20s was arrested Thursday morning from a home in Allen Park in connection to the missing head, according to Allen Park Police Chief James Wilkewitz.

“We went to that person’s house, and they admitted to the theft, and they told us where the head was,” Wilkewitz said...

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) - One person has been arrested, suspected of stealing the “bobble head” off a 5-foot-tall statue of Detroit Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig said the head was found in Allen Park, where local police were instrumental in helping to solve the case.

“The Bobble Head Bandit … I like that; it has a nice ring to it,” Craig joked with WWJ City Beat Reporter Vickie Thomas. “The Bobble Head Bandit has been busted.”

Late Thursday morning, one of four total suspects was in custody...
