Sad about the PI but why in the heck does Jodi Ann have 2 PI's? If she has a "private" one, why does she also get appointed one by the court... and taxpayers?

I've read several times that she is Greek. Who knows?

Yeah... but I found it a bit unsettling. This is a death penalty case, not an entertainment forum. It sounds like JM and DeMarte handled it tactfully, yet I can't help but think that it must have felt like an invasion of privacy. Perhaps because I have so much respect for JM and DeMarte, I would never have presumed it would be okay to approach them unbidden. JMO.

I think we all just need to slow our roll here for a bit. Who knows what really happened? I've heard they were already singing before she even came out and I've heard that she was targeted. To me, it doesn't matter. It's such a small thing.

I hate when people call someone they consider a "loser" a "mouth breather." I just don't get it. All I know, is that for the last 20 years or so, my sinuses and nasal allergies have been so severe (even with medication) that I almost have to literally be a "mouth breather." To me that's more hurtful than someone singing that song in an open air forum facing who knows where. What gave her the idea it was intended for her? Maybe they had just stomped on one of our lovely little friends and were singing him to heaven. Now, if they had waited until she walked out the door and blocked her way to perform a serenade of the song, then maybe ...

Personally, I think we should all be more thoughtful of what we're saying to and about others.

    Just sayin ...

That doesn't really upset me though. It's not like he's some court spectator chasing people down...I mean kinda, but It is a little different because he was a juror on the Devault case and has expressed great admiration for her and her role in that trial. It's normal for former jurors to come back around and jump at the opportunity to speak with players in the case they deliberated in. He probably just wanted to let her know what a great job he thought she did.

Looks like it's been an interesting day. :)

I was doing an all-day, no-breaks-except-to-pee, no-lunch deposition today. Ex-Navy Seal court reporter so I knew he'd hang in there. :) I was channeling JM and getting lots of "badgering the witness" objections but frankly I think if the witness had not been lying he would not have felt so badgered lol. :floorlaugh: Feeling aggressive after so I had a medium rare burger and now feel more normal...

I've got 2 more depos back-to-back tomorrow so if anyone has Qs please post in the Lawyer Questions thread and hopefully I'll have an hour or so in the evening to check in.

Only Jodi Ann... and her defense team. No one else, and I mean no one gives a s**t!

There were only three questions. IIRC she didn't even mention the child abuse she couldn't remember that she told Dr D about.

I agree with you about the boundary issue. I remember that ties were given to Detective Flores and JM. Quite a few people, IMO, took advantage of TA's murder by selling jewelry, can koozies, tennis shoes and other items that I cannot remember now and they stated they would give X amount of the sales to the Alexander family. Good grief, forget trying to sell your merchandise, give a cash donation! MOO

I guess I don't see the problem with people fraternizing with other people. What's wrong with MK talking to a colleague? We also don't know for sure yet if the group actually did that toward her. They said it was innocent. Let's wait and see. I would like to hear BOTH sides of the story before passing judgment.

While I agree it's frustrating when people like that insert themselves into a trial and treat this like a place for entertainment, I don't know what Paul Sander has done to receive so much flack. His writing isn't hurting anyone. Is it always completely accurate? No. But it can be interesting, though I have stopped reading them because they are long and redundant. I do feel his passion for justice for Travis coming through.

As for his approaching Demarte, I don't see how that's any different than any other former juror showing up in a trial of someone he saw in their trial and taking the opportunity to approach them to let them know what a job well done the juror thought they did. Happens all the time. I remember KCL posting that there are still jurors from Juan's cases from years ago that still come to watch him at work. Sometimes seeing justice at work can be interesting. And it is ok to let people know sometimes how good we think they are at their job.

BBM This is the part I am having a hard time with, and I am one of the nicest most diplomatic and politically correct people you could ever meet. I don't like mean people or bullies but I don't get how this lady singing a song (however it was intended) was interfering with the trial.

Nurmi and company... but more importantly Jodi Ann, try to make it so, but it is not. IF something really inappropriate was going on the court security would have intervened- THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. MDLR would not have needed to wait to notify someone, not to mention the fact that there are most likely cameras there too.

This is really getting ridiculous, IMO, and is just more of the "make the Alexanders take their ribbons off", "make Travis supporters be silent and show no emotions- we don't like it", "we want the jurors social media identities", "our witnesses are frightened for their lives... they can't testify, they are ruining my mitigators, we want a mistrial", "the media is ruining my chance for a fair trial", "Juan was signing autographs... thinks he's a star... he's a media whore", "my mitigation specialist was attacked with a racial slur... no? ok... she was being sang at... in latin". This is THE DEFENSE TEAM and beyond hypocritical... and ridiculous. MOO

Back in the late 1980s I used to do computer support for our company. I worked with Unix, but occasionally fielded questions or looked into problems on the VM (older, IBM mainframe) side if I could (not my area of expertise, so I couldn't always help). One day a user asked me to do something that involved looking at his account information. Unlike Unix, the password was actually right there, unencrypted. The password was "SEX4US"

It was her last day on the stand. It was probably as good a time as any.

And still, it might really have been innocent. Someone posted that someone said they were singing already when she walked out. It may really have had nothing to do with her. You are right in that they are looking for anything, even anything that has nothing to do with them. How could they know (if it wasn't on purpose) the defense would hear them and claim they were being racist.

It is such a stupid thing. And the people on both sides have acted so immature and petty. That especially includes cougarlouscious. No, there'd be nothing for them to complain about if people would stop inserting themselves into the trial. But them complaining about every little thing like this is really petty. I have never seen such childish behavior in a court of law in my life.

I would LOVE for JM to ask if, while on Uporn, the user searched for "Jodi"

    ETA: Or searched for "Travis"

Either would be pretty revealing, so to speak.

Yes, they are. But at the same time, the whole defense team is blatant with their tactics and **** type bullying. Change their mitigating factors at the blink of an eye, filing frivolous motions one after the other, bringing in incompetent 'expert witnesses' or ones who are all working chums under the leadership or in cahoots with Geffner and his IVAT. The schemes they think up are obnoxious.

I was hoping Nurmi had turned over a new leaf when he came in last year looking so different, but he's only gotten more belligerent with each passing week and each passing month. I have to second your, "Unbelievable. :gaaah:"

I actually like cameras in the court rooms. I used to watch Court TV a lot. When you can't be there, but can watch when its being filmed, is the next best thing. I miss seeing the actions of all those involved in the case. I wish we still had court TV.
