"Police said they received a 911 call Tuesday evening from witnesses at the Residence Inn on West Main Road. The caller said a woman was being stabbed inside her car in the parking lot."

"Zachary Lepelusa, 24, of Milford, and Antoinette Venditti, 35, had worked together at a Christmas Tree Shop discount store in Connecticut but had work-related conflicts and Lepelusa was fired, the Newport Daily News reports."

This is my hometown where there is a murder only about every 20 years or more. Looks like the police did a great job though.

Inside her car? Sounds like they also had a personal relationship and it wasn't over. I can't imagine another reason for a woman to let this guy in her car.

We don't know if she actually let him into the car, do we? For instance, he could have waited for her in the parking lot, etc, etc, etc.

I read in one article that he forced her into the car. I will see if I can find it.

"Lepelusa was waiting for Venditti when she got out of work Tuesday at the Middletown Christmas Tree Shops store and returned to the Residence Inn at 325 West Main Rd., where she was living, Pesare said. The chief said Lepelusa grabbed Venditti in the hotel parking lot and threw her into her car."

"The two had had conflicts at work and Lepelusa had been fired, he said, but investigators were trying to find out why."

Apparently when they found him he confessed according to the interview with the deputy chief here:
