PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The mother of a Providence man is pleading for help to find her son, Jose Silva, who’s been missing for nearly a month as of Wednesday.

“My son was a straight A student. This is not like my son just to be missing like that and not reach out to his family,” Colleen Silva, Jose’s mother, said.

According to Colleen Silva, the father of three vanished after leaving his home on April 24, and his phone is off.

Silva is described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He has long, straight brown hair in a pony tail, and has several tattoos on his arms.

Jose A. Silva, 36, of Providence, passed away on Friday, June 17th, 2022. Born in Providence, he was the son of Jose Medina and Colleen V. Silva.

Jose is survived by his children Jose-Miguel, Lillian, Damarri, sister Lynn Silva, brothers Antonio Jose Medina, Jovan Francisco Medina, aunts Pamela Amado, Victoria McKenny, Andrea Ayala, Maria Ayala, uncle Ricardo Amado, niece Kianna Ogando, nephew Erick Ogando, and grandmother Nilda Santiago.

Jose was the grandson of the late Linda Silva and Peter Soto Amado.

A Memorial will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Home, 168 Academy Avenue, at 5:00pm.
