The judge needs to give her the maximum on all charges and keep her in prison for the rest of her life. 15y for the manslaughter, 3y for each cruelty charge of the 8 children, and 5y for the animal cruelty.
44 years should do it, she'll die before then.

*Sentencing Hearing (@ am ET) – RI – Zah-Nae Rothgeb (9) (aka Zha-Nae Wilkerson) (Jan. 3, 2019, Warwick; handicapped w/cerebral palsy) - *Michele Rothgeb (56/now 58) “guardian” arrested & charged (1/13/19) & arraigned (6/28/19) with felony manslaughter & cruelty to a child. Charged (12/10/19) with 7 additional counts of cruelty to or neglect to a child & 1 count of unnecessary cruelty to animals. Plead not guilty. Released on $10K Surety bond. Held without bond (after no show @ hearing on 9/16/20).
8 special needs children (2½ to 15 yrs. old; 3 are her grandchildren).

5/18/21 Update: Next Trial Calendar Call hearing on 7/27/21. 7/27/21 Update: Trial calendar call hearing rescheduled to 8/3/21 & then rescheduled to 8/4/21. 8/4/21 Update: Trial calendar call hearing rescheduled to 8/25/21. Rothgeb faces charges of manslaughter & cruelty or neglect. She originally plead not guilty to all those charges, but she is now expected to enter a new plea.
8/26/21 Update: Rothgeb plead no contest. As part of a plea deal, Rothgeb could face up to 5 to 15 years in prison on the manslaughter charge in addition to more time on the other counts. Her sentencing was set for 11/3/21. She could still face the maximum of three years each on eight child neglect charges & up to five years on an animal cruelty charge.

IMO There is no reason anyone who’s committed such an atrocity towards innocence should have their sentencing drawn out this long, it isn’t rocket science. Praying for maximum penalty today.

It says sentencing was at 9:30 this morning. It does not say the sentence on the court website or the DOC site as of yet. The local news is not stating the sentence as of yet. I'll update you once I see the information posted.

Warwick woman sentenced to 18 years in daughter's death, related charges | WJAR (turnto10.com)
A Warwick woman was sentenced Wednesday to a total of 18 years in prison for her role in the death of her adopted daughter with special needs and related charges.

Under the plea agreement, Rothgeb faced up to 15 years in prison on the manslaughter charge, instead of the maximum 30. She received three years on the other charges.
