    Used to watch his TV show, back in the day.

    His death is a sad thing...his memory lives on, as well as his contributions to r&b which primarily us oldsters would understand.

    RIP Johnny Otis...won't EVER forget you.

    Johnny's son Shuggie Otis is also a songwriter and performer - his "Strawberry Letter 23" was a hit for the Brothers Johnson in 1977 (Shuggie's own version is also excellent, from his 1971 'Freedom Flight' LP):
