Florence is somewhat of a remote town. My guess is that the victim is a local.

Here are Charley Project's only two missing females from Florence SC

    Lakendra Shaice Wilson Powers
    http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/p/powers_lakendra.html

    Cathy Hicks Parrott
    http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/p/parrott_cathy.html

Interesting that the news article mentions orthopedic injuries from the UID's past. Cathy Parrott has a previous arm fracture. It's also interesting that Parrott's car was found on the east side of town, as was the UID (See Map link above).

The way the article talks about confirming identities and examining the orthopedic injuries made me think that they already had a tentative ID.

Cathy Parrott has been missing since 1992. Could she have been in the abandoned building for 18 years?

It's doubtful that she was in the living quarters of the house for that amount of time, but she may have been in the crawl space.

The article says that the remains were found as the house was being demolished, so it's quite possible that they were found under the house, rather than in the house.

The original article said the remains were under an over-turned bathtub. However that part of the story has now been removed. If there was a tub, it could have been under the house or in it. Hopefully they can ID her quickly.

But as is more frequent than not, authorities don't publicize the missing person. No record of her in Doe, NamUs, or Charley, and a Google search of her name yields nothing relevant.
