Malik Spencer, 18, of Lobeco was reported missing by his family Wednesday night. He was last seen at his residence at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

“It is very upsetting,” [MSR], his mom, said Thursday. “He is my only child. He is my life. It is very disturbing. It is strange. This is not something he has ever done.”

Spencer — an A and B student at Whale Branch High School — never made it to school Tuesday. He also never made it to his part-time job at Wendy’s.

He has a profile picture posted on 28th April that's a little bit concerning. Hopefully he'll be found safe and sound.

That could be just a bb gun, ya never know, as a whole he seems like a good kid. Heartbreaking for his Mom, I hope this turns out well.

It's not uncommon in that part of the country for people to shoot guns. I wouldn't read much into it. MOO

Spencer is active his youth and music ministry at Love House Ministries church. He also worked the past two summers with Beaufort County Pals summer camp.

As a senior, he has spent the last year questioning what the next chapter of his life might hold. This includes researching a school in Florida for welding.

He's at what looks to be a conservation club type of outdoor range. I've found they screen their members well (have belonged to 3 over the years)and folks are responsible and safety-minded or they are asked to leave. The criminal types do their practice shooting at city gun ranges, you just don't see the gang wannabe types at these outdoor type clubs. Looks like he's practiced and it's a hobby, just as I started shooting sports in college.
