I want to view all threads by state prefixes. But when I try to do so, i.e. with no keywords or anything else, the site throws an error message requesting a member name. I just want to see all threads posted that have various state prefixes and sort them by number of replies or by most recent, for example. Is there any way to do this, or is the member name actually not required and this is just a bug?

Trying to search by State (two letter) prefix:
There is a way to possibly achieve what you want,
depending on what set of data you are searching for.

For instance, if you wanted to search for all the threads
of persons who are or were at one time Missing Persons
in Louisiana, you could:
>double click Search on top right of forum webpage
>select Search Threads
>scroll and select a Prefix (two letter State prefix of e.g.
Louisiana is 'LA')
>scroll and select a forum (e.g. MISSING) or subforum
>input a 'Keyword' that the forum search software will
accept and which may occur in perhaps most thread titles
(I suggest the 'Keyword' of ', ' {that's a comma and a space}).
(Note, aside from the 'Keyword' of ', ' in my experience
a 'Keyword' of only two characters will not be accepted).
>tick the 'Search titles only' box
>tick the 'display results as threads' box
>click Search button at bottom of previous selections
result=all the threads of Persons who are or were Missing
in Louisiana.

-Be aware, this should display results from the forums
for all Louisiana Missing (named) persons + all unnamed
(unidentified) persons + all missing (named) then found
persons (e.g. Found Deceased, Recovered/Located,
Presumed Located, etc.), so understand it will search in
all the subforums of 'Missing'.
-Be aware, if a missing person's thread has been moved to,
for example, the Missing subform called "Located Persons
Discussion" and the State prefix (say, 'UK' for example) has
been replaced by the prefix 'Found Deceased' and no letters
are inserted in the title to indicate the State (in this case,
the capital letters 'UK' should have been inserted after the
replacement prefix of 'Found Deceased'), then the search
software will fail to find and include that thread in the UK
results (for example, the current Thread with prefix in title
" 'Found Deceased' Martin Moran, 26, last seen near Larch
Grove House, Balerno, nr Edinburgh, around 6am, 18 Nov
2022 "
would not be found and therefore not included in any UK
search results). This mistake happens rarely.
-Be aware, in my experience, if the forum software takes
longer than 60 seconds to action its search of the database,
then the search will not return any results and will not give
any error message but will simply.. cease searching.
Therefore, selecting a subforum to search in, and/or
selecting (tick) 'Search titles only' and selecting (tick) 'display
results as threads', will greatly limit the amount of data
the search software has to search through and therefore
help to keep the search time to less than 60 seconds.
