I recall a few years ago seeing a huge poster of shots like these. I think it was produced by the Multnomah County Sheriff's office in OR? Showed it to my kids and will be sharing this with them as well.

Why, why, why are so many people willing to do this to themselves? In an age where physical beauty plays perhaps too important a part in our society, this is completely the other end of the spectrum.

I just don't understand.

ETA - DUH! I see these pics are also from Multnomah County, but all different than the originals. Must be a huge problem up there - as it is in so many areas of our county today.

those type of posters are up at jails & prisons here and in recovery centers & various other places

I think they possibly work for awareness, not so much for prevention but that's just IMO
