SERIOUSLY WEIRD. The best explanation is some kind of Russian rocket? Please.

    Another article: http://news.discovery.com/space/mystery-spiral-appears-over-norway.html

"According to the press, this could be seen all over northern Norway and must therefore have been very high up in the atmosphere to be seen hundreds of km apart."

The near-perfect spiral appeared at 7:50 a.m. and already the conspiracy theories are out in full-force. Is it some kind of energy weapon? Or was it the Large Hadron Collider (which, coincidentally, has just broken the world record for the most powerful particle collision of all time)?

One thing's for sure, when I spent five months living in the Arctic Circle (on the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard), I never saw anything quite like this in the sky -- no matter how much øl I'd consumed.

Go ahead and ruin it for those of us who want to believe with a simple explanation.

The music they added to the video made it all the creepier. Better lights than in my neighborhood this time of year. LOL I thought it was beautiful, actually!

Was there another strange temporal spiral similar to the unknown and yet unexplained Norway Spiral seen and heard across Western Canada yesterday? Footage from an airliner has surfaced with the event horizon from two different angles. It is extremely unusual and does look alot like the Norwegian spiral in many ways.

I'm calling shenanigans on this one. The film is too good IMO. I've yet to see a serious news outlet pick this story up. I also didn't read about numerous people calling the police or being interviewed other than the three photographers. The airplane footage is way too good, IMO. One would think it would be a little shakier.

I say this is debunked within a couple of weeks. JMO

This guy does an excellent job debunking the video footage.

Canadian UFO Spiral -- Not a Missile this Time?

A photo published at Weatherspace claims to show the same event from the ground, but portrays a complex spiral path that doesn't show up in the two videos. This sort of image could be computer generated or created physically by image overlay. The videos don't back it up.

Witnesses commenting on the two videos and also claiming to have seen the event mention that the lights in the sky did not illuminate any ground objects. While I've noticed something similar to that in encounters I do consider real, in this case it's a too convenient explanation of why no one noticed what was happening and why you don't see that in the videos. Unless you were looking directly at it, you wouldn't know it was up there. The likeliest explanation is that the event is fake and this is mentioned just to cover up faults in the footage. In the plane video, the object does light up the tip of the wing and part of the cloud layer, but only within the sphere of the expanding object. That either places the object about thirty feet from the plane or means the image is superimposed.

We'll have to wait and see how many people come forward with substantiating evidence and stories. Anything visible over a major city, as this event was, should have caught the attention of hundreds, if not thousands, who happened to be looking in the right direction at the right time. If we learned anything from the Norway Spiral it's that lots of us are watching, all the time.

Actually, know what it looks like to me? As much as I'd like to think it's a new sort of phenom...

IF - there was a rocket/missle shot, and it lost it's trajectory somehow (GIGO? Software mal?), and was going to destroy a city...a quick thrust just before it expodes would allow it to regain some altitude, change trajectory, and thus explode higher.

Thrusters on one side would create the spiral effect - the "spinning" aspect to the photos; there is clearly a shockwave post explosion (even in the first vid); and there is definitely some sort of explosion (again from the first vid). Other vids back it up, whether man-made, enhanced, or "au-naturel".

It really seems like it's a gone-wrong rocket launch...with some last minute maneuvering which managed to save some lives.

As to why we're not hearing of it...the DoD knows what it was, and has squashed media response. It is pretty scary to think that this sort of missle/rocket is out there (although we ALL have it), and the DoD can in fact exercise it's muscles and in the interests of national safety prevent stories from being in the media (as much as we'd like to think otherwise), so...

I want to think it's some new phenom...but I just can't. Hope I explained what I saw well enough...

    Best-
    Herding Cats
