Juan said she stabbed him, I want him to really put emphasis on the fact that she stabbed him more than twenty times!

This was put on the Court Docket today:

Is this where the Defense is going to try to introduce the "heat of passion" defense?

I was in college at the time, so I was off in my own world, but did anyone remember the OJ trial being 9 months long? WOW, almost a year. geesh.

:floorlaugh:

I love the part where Juan says to him as he's shaking his head: "No sir, it doesn't work that way." :floorlaugh:

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:TFF
GUILTY OF SlimeBallNess.

BBM Just that fact that she used the word "planned" really jumps out at me. She did plan to hurt him and the rest of it is all lies. She did stab him over and over and she enjoyed it. She only shot him to be sure he was dead and nothing about what she did was humane at all. I got angry just reading that. She disgusts me. Justice for Travis!

I really was not a DP advocate before this trial, and I'm not going so far over that way as to say every 1st degree murderer should get the DP, even if the murder was committed with extreme cruelty.

JA deserves the DP, IMO, because exactly, she chose and planned a murder that would cause her victim the maximum of amount of pain AND enjoyed tormenting Travis' friends and family immediately afterwards and for years afterwards, in ways both direct and indirect, AND when finally forced into the light of open court, she opted for--DEMANDED, really, a defense that would give her the opportunity to kill Travis all over again, AND to cause his family and friends the maximum amount of pain.

That's not just lack of remorse, that's a killer still killing with every weapon still available to her, and openly laughing as she does so.

No wonder all the rage so many of us feel. And yes, I certainly do hope the jury feels the same way and sentences her accordingly.

BBM: JMO but I hope NOT ...

She has sat in the first row of that court room throughout the trial laughing and behaving inappropriately ... "buttering up" to Donovan ... passing things back and forth to get to JA through her mit specialist ... wearing those DV ribbons ... and now she is bringing in her mother -- JA's grandmother -- playing the "sympathy card" ...

She also has a "new friend" -- Dr. Phil McGraw who will no doubt will be paying her $$$$$ for an interview after the verdict ... [remember the Anthony's] ...

And "you can mark my words on that" ... :floorlaugh:

:moo:

Dr. Phil needs to go sit down somewhere and mind his own business. lol. :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

I think there's a lot of sentiment for revenge, not just justice. "Justice" is making sure a perp is never able to be free, never able to hurt an innocent victim again, and is properly and legally contained and kept out of society forever. And if a jury decides death is the right penalty in a case then that too is justice.

What I'm reading is something else entirely and that's REVENGE. "Make her suffffferrrr," "Don't let her have anything except water and bread and only once a dayyyy," "lock her in solitary confinement and never let her out of that inky black room."

If revenge is the system one wants then Pakistan, Afghanistan and similar countries will welcome you with open arms. Of course you may lose an arm there. Or fingers or toes. Or be accused of a crime you didn't actually commit (for any reason) and then be stoned. Or tortured. And you'll have no rights.

Forgive me for saying this but only the victim's family can really know the pain of this brutal murder. It was their loved one that was murdered. The rest of us talking about whether the punishment is revenge or justice or whatever? We can talk and argue about it but let's not forget that we don't have the right to talk about this murder like it happened to our loved ones. It did not.

No matter how much empathy we may have we can never feel even 1% of what they are going through. This poor family has a few rights. Wanting JA to get the death penalty is one of them. I'm sure JM will agree.

Being incarcerated for the rest of one's life is suffering for the vast majority of humans. I don't know anyone who thinks prison is nice and comfy. I don't know anyone who wouldn't prefer to be out of prison if they could. That is considered one of the most severe penalties any human can face, outside of being executed. For some it's worse and they'd rather be killed than be 'warehoused' for decades.

Being in general population as Queen Bee would be a dream for JA in this senario. Plus the Arizona taxpayers are paying for her luxurious stay LWOP until she is 95.

Death Row will get her, either by needle or early death from lack of attention.

And I hope during closing, Juan literally acts out the stabbing one by one until he reaches 29 stabs. If he takes a plastic knife and stabs it at a crash dummy and literally counts out loud up to 29, it would have a dramatic impact on the jury.

29 stab wounds is an incredible number of stab wounds. Acting that out for the jury will be shocking to them.

I think just pounding his fist against his own hand or a table will make a huge impact. Keep it simple, but intense. Make sure the jury knows how long 29 stabs take and how she could have stopped after every stab, but instead just kept on going. I have a feeling he'll do some variation of this and it will be very powerful. Jmo :)

:furious: This DT is despicable ... always up to new tricks ...

:furious: They should NOT be allowed to do this ...

They are desperate !

Yes and her latest plan is to kick him around some more in this trial.
IMO she knows she will be in prison the rest of her life. That's why this part of the trial has been Jodi's Scorched Earth Policy.

In her mind: It's Travis that made me so upset. I needed to move on. My obsession and constant thoughts of him wouldn't allow me to move on. The only way I can possibly move on with my life, find another Morman man in PPL etc is if he is gone or he will ruin my reputation...Travis had to die so Jodi could survive...

So....it's his fault. I had to kill him. I know I will go to jail forever. That's his fault too so Travis and his reputation will pay for this fact.

Where I think Jodi could lose it in the courtroom is during the guilt phase where no Travis bashing will be allowed. Lets talk about Jodi and HER issues. Her Problems, her psychopathy

I agree 100%. Everyone wants to put a mental health diagnosis other, bottom line she was a scorned, used woman. Travis just used her for sex. Like ,most of us have done or had done to us at one point in our lives. The difference is Arias had control, she felt Travis owed her something, not grasping the fact it was just sex. Ex Sex, a ton of people have done it,I have done it. I didn't become obsessed though, I knew what I was doing. I too agree that the sheriff deputy better make sure she is sedated on judgement day as I believe Arias is going to flip out, she really thinks she's gonna walk or get a lower sentence.

Although, with all due respect. Many of us here aren't just lurkers, but actually DO have a friend OR family member involved in a brutal murder. My friends murderer deserved death and didn't get it. In the great state of Texas no less. And it WAS a torturous departure from this Earth. :(

Or do they want Dr.Geffer to testify to make stuff than was agreed?

Dr. Geffer is surrebuttal only. That means he only can rebut Dr. D's testimony. Not sure how he can do that since ALV and Dr. Samuels testimonies were so bad and Dr. D seemed the most credible of the three. Should be interesting.

I'll be watching. I wish we all had access to the stun belt button!

Of course. Many of us do have loved ones who were murdered. I'm talking about this particular case of Travis Alexander. We cannot feel the kind of pain that Travis' family feels for him.

Not talking in general. :)
