WEST PALM BEACH, FL --
A South Florida teen has been arrested after authorities say he was posing as a doctor at an illegal medical office he ran.

Love-Robinson’s website said the New Birth, New Life Alternative Medicine and Urgent Care Clinic offered holistic and urgent care, as well as family planning counseling, and was staffed with alternative medicine professionals.

The story of the 17-year-old caught last year in a pregnant woman's exam room at St. Mary's Medical Center went viral.

According to the police report, the then-unidentified teen, dressed in a St. Mary's lab coat and wearing a stethoscope and face mask, had been seen by doctors and staff for over a month, roaming the halls, and entering patient’s rooms.

Accused teen 'doctor' arrested on new charges in Virginia

A Florida teenager accused of pretending to be a doctor and stealing money from an 86-year-old patient faces new charges in Virginia after authorities say he fraudulently tried to buy a luxury car.

Malachi Love-Robinson was arrested Friday and charged with identity theft and other fraud offenses after he attempted to purchase a Jaguar at a car dealership, Stafford County Sheriff's officials say.

They said employees at Kargar Motors Car Dealership became suspicious when Love-Robinson applied for a car loan with an elderly woman as the co-signer on the loan. The employees called the sheriff's office after looking up Love-Robinson's name in an internet search.

Authorities in Palm Beach County said Love-Robinson was illegally operating a medical practice — complete with an office, a lab coat and stethoscope — but had no license to do so.

His trial on charges of practicing medicine without a license has been delayed until November while his attorney considers a possible insanity defense, according to media reports.

Fake teen doctor sentenced in fraud case
Love-Robinson pleaded guilty in March to providing a false statement to obtain credit. On Monday, a Stafford County judge sentenced him to five years in prison, with four of those being suspended.

According to the Rappahannock Regional Jail website, Love-Robinson was booked in November 2016. With his year-long sentence, he'll serve another six months before he is released.

Wonder where Dr. Love will open his next office? How do you really stop someone who keeps doing this over and over and over?!

He has done this before. It started in his teens, 15-16? I think.

The new allegation fits the fraud-based pattern of Love-Robinson’s court history. Indeed, the claim surfaced mere months after he stepped out of custody in Florida, according to details described in an arrest affidavit obtained by Law&Crime.

In this case, the owner of United States of Freight, a shipping broker, reported to Delray cops on March 6, 2020 that the defendant, a contracted employee, rerouted business payments to personal accounts, authorities said. Normally, customers pay the company directly, and the company then pays a commission to the representative who brokered the deal. Love-Robinson was described as a representative.

The defendant is accused of having a total of $9,430 rerouted to him from five customers. Amounts ranged from $105 up to $2,750, police said. Under his instruction, four customers sent money to Love-Robinson either through PayPay or Venmo, cops said. The defendant allegedly texted a fifth to send her payment to a business by the name of “National Logistics Division LLC,” officers said. Authorities claim this business name was registered to the defendant.

On top of that, Love-Robinson was paid a total of $699.81 in commissions for these jobs, cops said.

According to the affidavit, police said they had “negative results” in reaching Love-Robinson, but the complainant gave them screenshots of text messages in which the defendant wrote that he “ himself,” that he “can’t say how truly sorry” he was, that he is “doing everything [he] can to make it right,” and “I don’t want to go to jail.” Other communications allegedly asserted there were refunds sent to the company, but the owner said he did not get that money back.

Love-Robinson is charged with a count each of grand theft, and organized scheme to defraud less than $20,000. He bonded out of jail on $2,000. There is no attorney of record.
