Apparent explosion hits near finish line of Boston Marathon

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – An apparent explosion has hit the finish line area of the Boston Marathon.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud explosion near the finish line just before 3 p.m. Video from Skyfox showed a number of emergency crews in the area tending to victims.

There appeared to be blood on the ground near the finish line.

Reuters was reporting that the Boston Marathon headquarters were in lockdown.

No other details were available.

We reported earlier that the FBI has taken over the investigation, but here's the information on the special FBI public tip line:

The FBI has set-up 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324), prompt #3, for anyone who has information, visual images, and/or details regarding the explosions along the Boston Marathon route and elsewhere. No piece of information or detail is too small.

Pure speculation: I think some other thieves were robbing the 7-11 when the suspected bomber brothers were present/entering the store and eyewitnessed as being in the 7-11. And that someone then alerted the cops and the MIT campus police re: robbery and/or suspect sightings. And everything avalanched from there.

Yes, they do have great doctors. However, these people did not have money AND they were living in the midst of some of the best health care in the world and a place with some of the most liberal policies with regard to receiving care one cannot pay for.

Chechen Brothers Linked to Boston Bombings

U.S. authorities have linked two Chechen brothers to the Boston bombings that killed three people and injured more than 170 this week, U.S. media reported Friday.

The Russian Foreign Ministry told The Moscow Times that it was aware of the reports and looking into them.

The ministry "is studying the information that appeared in the press," a ministry spokesman said by phone.

But, he added, "No definite statement will be issued until all of the information has been verified."

They'll get him! No special powers in play. Amazing job to have ID'd the duo and to have begun the chase as early as they did, and a tip of my Kangol to LE for it. He may be receiving aid and comfort from a confederate in the area. They'll get them too.
