11:04am: Mr Cheesman said he was aware of Mrs Baden-Clay's battle with depression.

"I knew she was suffering depression and he was finding it difficult," Mr Cheesman said.

"He occasionally opened up but then he closed down again."

Mr Cheesman said Mr Baden-Clay's real estate agency Century 21 Westside was once nominated to be one of the companies in the BRW Top 100 Fast Starters list.

Another of Gerard's friends, business development manager Stuart Christ, is on the stand. #badenclay

Mr Christ says he and Gerard went to school and university together. Their children went to school together. #badenclay

Mr Christ says they have been very close. In recent years, probably not as close. #badenclay

Mr Christ says he and his wife gave Gerard and Allison a loan for their business. #badenclay

Mr Christ says in Feb, 2011, he got a call from Gerard saying the business wasn't going so well. "It was a fairly vague call." #badenclay
