The elusive "other" cell phone - the Blackjack - REVISITED

I have to wonder if Casey was somehow refering to a person. Her use of wording is odd.
some how she was 'jacking' into phone serive through someone who worked at AT&T. I also have to wonder if Lee knew what Casey did even though she referred to her work as working for universal

LEE: For work, or for otherwise?

I was in through the park talking to just a couple of mutual friends of….

LEE: So you were up there for fun or whatever?

CASEY: It wasn’t necessarily fun, but yes not through work at that moment…

LEE: I’ve got you, ok, I understand.

CASEY: I know I had it at Jay Blanchard Park, I don’t remember where the very last place is I had it.

LEE: Where did you get this phone from? Like how was it provided to you?

CASEY: Through the AT&T Store, god, what road? It’s the bottom left side of town kind of near where the mall and stuff is.

LEE: Was this a phone, is this another personal cell phone of yours?

She could be talking about a phone but Lee was not sure that's what makes me think it may be a person or somehow connected to using the phone lines without getting a bill or some type of 800 or 900 service. Just a thouhgt to go along with this interesting theroy

maybe, Lee figured it out. He has been out of site for awhile.

I figure the switched sim card was just a last minute lie to try to throw LE off attempting to find another phone with another # that would generate records of evidence and tower ping info. I'd really like to know if LE followed up w/ Universal.

My husband just recently got a new phone and the phone company did switch out his sim card so that he could keep all of his numbers and other stuff.

<Snipped>

Unless technology changed, I don't see how she could get by without contacting her carrier each time she swapped back & forth to the "BlackJack".

I've been sitting here all night switching sim cards between 3 phones. They all work, and they show up after switching in my control panel with att. Activation is a matter of dialing a phone number. Any number.

OK, I realize that 99% of what Casey Anthony says is a half-truth at best, still, I've been re-listening to Casey's phone call to Lee @ end of July that includes info on her other (i.e. "BlackJack") cell phone.

IF, we play along for a minute, and, indeed, there WAS another cell phone (i.e. "BlackJack" or other) Casey appears to be TRYING to tell Lee that she tossed her cell phone @ Universal Park when she was taken their by LE, 7/16. She indicates the last time she had it for "certain" was when she was in through the park "in through the park talking to a couple of mutual friends", and "it wasn't necessarily fun" and "not through work". At this point she knows the calls are made public and must try to get the point across indirectly.

She later indicates that these "mutual friends" are the ONLY ones she talked to about Caylee missing. The two names she gives are complete fabrications (oh, how ironic) and she disagree’s with the spelling of Juliet to try to clue Lee into what she is trying to tell him, but, he doesn't get it (i.e. the “mutual friends” are the LE that accompanied her 7/16)!

She also indicates "J Blanchard Park" as a potential place she lost it too to try to clue Lee into what she is trying to tell him - as in places she's been escorted around to w/ LE 7/15-7/16, but, he doesn't get it.

She is VERY emphatic about telling him how it might've been lost "that's the thing...if it fell out of my bag...if it fell out of my pocket [LONG PAUSE i.e. "DON’T YOU GET IT?!?!?].

My hope is that LE figured this out some time ago and retraced Universal route they took on 7/16 (i.e. Did she go to a restroom unmonitored?), and checked the lost-and-found @ Universal for any/all cell phones. IF there indeed was another cell phone Casey used, regardless of what type, it may have been tossed in a place where it would be hard to tie back to its original owner.

Casey may have stolen the second cell phone to use when she needed to go undetected, and, hence, didn't have a charger to use. J.P. Chatt immediately went shopping for an iPhone the day he returned from Puerto Rico, suggesting that something had happened to his phone.

J.P.’s phone records would be worth a search.

Dunno about the compatibility of the sim chip between Casey’s phone and the other phone. Maybe just a complete ruse there.

Perhaps not new ideas, but, just in case, I thought they were worth sharing.

What I get out of this is that it is entirely plausible, especially if you believe there were two separate phones, with two separate sim cards.

Not sure I see a link to JP, but I've never, ever, ever bought the sim swap story.

On the otherhand, I would notice if many of the texts and calls I received from the same person came from two different numbers.

OK. If any credibility is given to the SIM switcharoo it would just throw LE off of researching a different number (e.g. JP's) for evidence. Why believe the SIM story as the single truth outta the whole story she told?????????

It shouldn't..... there are issues with it from a timing and common sense perspective because Lee even asked her about it in his recorded call with her. Tead the transcript of that exchange and you'll see what I mean.

BTW for whomever asked, a regular AT&T SIM will work with an Iphone...but sometimes the SIM doesn't get recognized very well, and that's when you need AT&T's intervention.

Entertaining this theory... if it was a prepaid phone, a phone on someone else's account that LE is not aware of, or a borrowed or stolen phone that they haven't connected her to, they would NOT have the records. That's *why* prepaid phones are often used in drug deals, etc - once tossed successfully, it's *almost* impossible to connect that person to that phone (unless you have video of them buying or taking posession of it, etc.)

So, that part does "float" for me.

Not just used in drug deals...immigrants use them becaus ethey are affordable and they don't have to go with the credit check you have get with major carrier to get a phone.

I brought this up a week ago. If you have ever watched "the Wire" on HBO that is what the drug dealers use and it can't be traced.

Interesting theory - that does make sense of that cryptic phone call.

This is just a minor point, but the new Apple I-phones were just being released when JP returned. My co-worker was on a mission to get his, ordering it in advance, waiting in line to get it, etc., since he (and many others) believe it is an amazing phone (toy!) That could have very well been the case with JP, and nothing else.

I agree about the Iphone. It seems like JP probably just wanted the latest new toy. But, as for the cryptic message, that does make sense.

There was discussion about the blackjack phone a few weeks ago, and someone noted that in a picture taken at Fusian, there was what looked like a blackjack phone sitting on a table in front of a group Casey was with.

Since we know that Casey has stolen cash and checks, it's possible she could have stolen a phone too........just slip it into her purse when no one was looking. She told Lee that she had problems with the phone because it wouldn't hold a charge. So, she may have stolen the phone but didn't have the charger.

I'd put money on it.

Also remember Kiomarie's first statement to LE, that when she got a call from Casey, it was a number she didn't recognize, so she answered it thinking it was work related.

Of course she later called LE and told them it was a different Casey that called, but I don't think I buy that.

AND...IIRC Kio's fiance would not release the phone records after she recanted.

Ummmmmmmmmm..........you mean the BLACKJACK assigned to her from Universal Studios? Just like the office she had at Universal Studios, and let's not forget that email address assigned to her at Universal Studios. She had no other phone and the one she did have was about to be shut off because her bill was close to $700 bucks!!!

She had no Nanny and there ain't no ZANNY!!!!

She had no job!!! (except for ripping people off and sending herself fake emails, playing on myspace and facebook)
She was a liar and not one thing she has told anybody IN YEARS has been the truth!!!!

That never held much weight with me.

Not that I necessarily believe Kio, but I know many, many men who wouldn't want to release their phone records. It was HIS phone account afterall. Perhaps he was more concerned about Kio seeing his calls, than LE seeing them.

Mistresses, phone sex, drug contacts.

I can think of innumerable reasons a person might not want their records released.

Regardless, if LE really wanted them, they'd just subpoena them - and we don't know that they didn't.

For convenience...

Kio gives Casey "Williams" # as 407-856-8405. Reverse look-up gives on intelius for this # gives:

Gives Orlando as current address.

Address history:
5 addresses in Orlando
1 address in Winter Park
4 relatives for the phone owner

Casey Anthony gives 407-619-9286 as her cell phone on 7/15-16.

Gives Winter Park as current address.

Address history:
2 addresses in Orlando
5 relatives for the phone owner.

Kio calls the 407-856-8405 and "it just rings and rings and rings and rings."

But the officer got an 'out of service' msg when he called.

Yes, she lies. IMHO, however, she builds her lies onto other information to help her string it together so that it sounds believable and helps her repeat it if necessary. This is a basic technique of increasing/enhancing memory/recall. Casey just uses this technique in a perverted way. You won't find me taking anything Casey states at face value. You will find me sifting through the information for something that might help (a) locate Caylee, and/or (b) hold those responsible for her disappearance accountable for their actions.

...bringing this back to point.

So, humor me, and let me know if any info pops up that any cell phones went missing from her circle of friends or Fusian in mid-June.
