WKRN News 2 reports that the remains were discovered on Thompson Road.

According to Sheriff Mike Breedlove, other body parts were found in the area. The person’s identity or cause of death was not immediately known. Authorities said the remains are those of an adult.

The Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at 644 Thompson Rd. after the remains were found. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been called to the scene for assistance.

Remains believed to be human found near Pegram

Cheatham County Sheriff Mike Breedlove confirmed to the Times that the partial remains were found on Thompson Road in Pegram. He said a "dog dragged up some human remains" onto the porch.

Investigators are "in the process of working the scene and hopefully finding more remains," he told the Times around 1:40 p.m.

The age of the person was not known, but officials confirmed it was not a child's remains.

I know this is near Nashville. Lots of missing people from there.

I know they found that guy that was missing this summer from this county.

But Judith Ann Ehmeke – The Charley Project is still missing since 1986. Unlikely. But maybe it will renew some interest.

I'm surprised that no more information about the bones or the possible identity of who they belong to has come about. I grew up in Cheatham County and have heard whispers of who it might be, but no official reports from law enforcement. Sad...

Pegram resident’s dog discovers human remains

At about 11 a.m., the sheriff’s office got a call that a resident’s dog had brought an arm onto their porch, Sheriff Mike Breedlove said.

It seems likely that the remains, which were found in a wet lowland, are those of a nearby resident who hasn’t been seen in about a month, Breedlove said.

The arm found still had flesh attached to the bone, he said. There has been no evidence of foul play in the death discovered, he said.

Dog unearths human hand at Middle Tennessee property

CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn.--A dog has unearthed a human hand in Cheatham County, according to police.

FOX 17 News crew observed police searching the Thompson Road area inside a home, sifting through a truck, and looking back in the woods behind a number of homes

The sheriff's office main priority is identifying the remains.

“That opens up all kind of other leads, why, who is she or he,” said Breedlove.

Sheriff Breedlove said they do not have any local missing persons reports.
