Claudene Whaley, 76, may be traveling in a white 2007 Toyota Highlander with a Tennessee tag: EP1946. Authorities believe she may be in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park area.

Whaley also has a medical condition and that may impair her ability to return safely without assistance, according to the TBI. Whaley is described as a white female standing at 5’1″ and weighing 150 pounds with gray hair and hazel eyes.

A car driven by a missing Gatlinburg woman who is the subject of an active Tennessee Silver Alert was found Wednesday in Cocke County.

A Silver Alert was issued for Claudene Whaley, 76, on Monday by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Agents said she may have been traveling in a white 2007 Toyota Highlander and may be in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park area.

The Toyota Highlander was found Wednesday evening along Gulf Road in the Hartford area of Cocke County. The search for Whaley continues and anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-TBI-FIND.

Search for Claudene Whaley continues

NEWPORT—Cocke County Emergency Management Agency (CCEMA) Director Joe Esway addressed the CLB board this week regarding the search for missing Gatlinburg resident Claudene Whaley.

Esway said video footage from Grassy Fork Volunteer Fire Department (GFVFD) stations one and two showed Whaley’s vehicle drive past. The footage did not show who was operating the vehicle. A search then found Whaley’s vehicle off Gulf Road in Hartford. He said the front driver side tire was disintegrated, and the shift in weight then disintegrated the tire on the front passenger side of the vehicle.

TBI: Body of missing Gatlinburg 76-year-old found
