It's interesting that HW says he never met the baby; WMc says he only met the baby twice; grandparents say they haven't seen the baby since a week before Thanksgiving; babysitter last saw her Dec. 10 or 11.

I've wondered if Evelyn was sometimes left alone while MB went places, especially once she started her new relationship (chronically lying that EB was with her daddy). Was she craving freedom from parenting responsibility? And then at some point, did MB decide life would just be easier if EB was permanently "with her daddy"... especially as her new relationship took center-stage? I can't imagine a mom being that heartless, but the MB interviews I've seen, she seems very detached from EB. Like in the link below where they asked about Christmas gifts, etc. instead of sobbing, SHE'S NERVOUS GIGGLING. She seems to scramble to describe the gifts (like they don't really exist), then when asked "Are you gonna give them to her when you see her next?" MB says she "Can't wait" and giggles -- when previously she said she had EB thru Dec. 26th. Then EB would surely have received the Christmas gifts already. WHICH IS IT?

Discussing searches, MB says "If you find anything, don't touch it. If you find her alive and well, obviously like go grab her, go get her. But like you know, if you find like clothes that you're like 'oh this sounds like what she was wearing last,' just don't touch it"... without crying. WITHOUT CRYING. That's discussing her 2+ month missing baby's pink tracksuit being found by strangers -- and she says it without emotion. In fact, she giggles less than 10 second later. Inconceivable.

She also says "she looks exactly like her daddy" and then says "but she has my eyes so that's all that matters"... implying it's a bad thing she looks like her daddy. I wonder if that factors in to her seeming lack of attachment.

I agree with grandpa who says whatever happened to EB, Megan will be at the bottom of it. JMO

Megan Boswell, mom of missing 15-month-old, arrested & charged with false reports

After searching a pond, how do they come up with an “inconclusive”?

Guess it means that something was found that they aren’t sure whether it is applicable to this case?

One report said nothing was found and then this inconclusive report came out.

Thank heavens Evelyn wasn’t found in the pond!

I think they’re going to continue the search tomorrow.

That seems like a fairly drastic move with, what seems to me, little LE presence.

Hoping this is a follow up to another routine lead. I did not get a sense of urgency from the little amount of live feed I saw.

After seeing the tubing closer up my original thought about draining was pretty much erased. It was way too narrow for that.

The search for 15-month-old Evelyn Boswell led police here to North Carolina. I’m so sad to say that they didn’t find her (which means, DEFINITELY look closely at these pics). At 6:30a, I’ll tell you why police came here and who we spoke to with ties to the case. @WBTV_News

Investigation leads authorities to search NC pond in Evelyn Boswell case
[...]

MM said her grandson and his girlfriend, Angela Boswell, were in Wilkes County last week to visit an aunt. They stayed at the Lowe’s Motel in nearby Wilkesboro, she said. The woman said she was told there was a water line break in the room at the motel, which cost her grandson some money.

The woman said her grandson then came to her house to borrow money, which is the only time she said he usually visits. Angela Boswell stayed in the BMW when they stopped at McCloud’s house, according to his grandmother, who said he didn’t mention Evelyn.

February 26, 2020

On February 26, the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office held a press conference after the arrest of Megan Boswell.

[...]

Just after 4 p.m., it was reported that the property at the center of the search for Evelyn in Wilkes County, North Carolina was connected to Boswell through family. Property records show a home near the pond is owned by a family member of William McCloud — the boyfriend of Evelyn's grandmother.

At around 5:20 p.m., the Wilkes County Sheriff's Office announced the search for Evelyn in the pond was inconclusive. Investigators used a Remote Operated Vehicle to search the pond and found nothing.

On Wednesday evening, a friend of Megan Boswell's spoke to WVLT News. The friend said she believed Megan knew where Evelyn was and who had her. Investigators have said that Megan has continued to offer conflicting stories.

Later that evening, WVLT News spoke with McCloud over the telephone. McCloud had called A-Hood Bonding in Kingsport, Tennessee, and WVLT News reporter Gwendolyn Ducre interviewed him via the phone.

McCloud said he had only seen Evelyn one or two times since he began dating Angela Boswell in June 2019. He said he had offered to do a polygraph test and offered his DNA to investigators.

JMO

I believe MB is just another in a series of moms who view their children as disposable possessions. The majority of them seem to get away with murder entirely or are given a slap on the wrist, especially if ‘mom’ is young.

She knows (or thinks) she can string this out forever. Everything coming out of her mouth has been a lie and that will continue. She’s tripped up plenty of times already but so far not enough to lead to significant charges.

The only hope to find the truth is if others start talking.

Again, JMO

how many days do you think until she cracks / case is solved

i wonder if she realises that if she is responsible for Evelyn's death that she will probably never step foot outside that cell for a really long time she isn't going home anytime soon

An affidavit dated July 2018 said McCloud’s girlfriend at the time reported to police that during an argument with McCloud, he tried to break her arm and choked her until she lost her vision.

According to the document, he grabbed her by the hair, slammed her head into the ground and punched her multiple times and bit her ear until it bled.

In a second incident, the same woman told officers in October 2019 that McCloud punched her in the jaw and broke one of her teeth in an argument, according to court records. She told officers in a written statement that he punched her in the face multiple times, blackened both of her eyes and punched her in the stomach.

According to court documents, a Kingsport Police Department officer pulled Boswell over in July 2018 after noting an unrestrained four-year-old child in the front seat.

Boswell was charged with violation of child restraint law, driving on a suspended license, expired registration and failure to comply with financial responsibility. She was later convicted on the seatbelt violation along with the insurance and suspended license charges.

A November 2018 affidavit said a caller alerted authorities to a woman driving around Taco Bell on North Eastman Road with an unrestrained child on her lap. A KPD officer located the described vehicle parked in front of a convenience store with Boswell and the child inside, but the child wasn’t on Boswell’s lap.

According to the affidavit, Boswell told the officer that the child was in her lap at Taco Bell, but said she buckles the child up when driving on the road.

The Kingsport officer discovered that Boswell had a warrant for failure to appear in Scott County, Va. and a warrant in Sullivan County for violation of probation. Officers arrested her as a fugitive from justice out of Scott County and jailed her.

The affidavit says a David Jones took custody of the unnamed child in Boswell’s care at the time.

When Boswell was being booked at Kingsport City Jail, a corrections officer found a plastic wrapper with two pills in Boswell’s pants. The documents say Boswell tried to hide the pills in her pants and shoes while changing clothes at the jail.

Authorities determined the pills appeared to be Focalin, a schedule II drug and charged Boswell with introduction of contraband into a penal facility.

In April 2019, Boswell crashed into another vehicle on Fort Henry Drive. Officers at the scene found that her license was suspended from the accumulation of points in November 2018. Boswell also told officers that she didn’t have insurance at the time of the crash, according to records.

Officers arrested Boswell for driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and failure to yield right of way.

In addition to the vehicle and drug charges, Boswell was found guilty of stealing two pastries from Food City’s bakery in November 2018, according to records.
Evelyn Boswell’s grandmother, boyfriend both have recent criminal histories
