'A Mother knows'..intuition...spiritual connection..perception.. Maternal instinct is the maternal bond that forms between a mother and her child. This is a natural born instinct that is present in all animals..

It is normal for a parent to feel guilty when a son or daughter is missing/abducted/murdered. A parents primary job/responsibility in life is to protect their children from harm.. Everything else is secondary to a parent..

i really like this theory because it's simple and it explains some of the weirdness we, as outsiders, see in this case. for instance why the stories don't seem to make sense and leave out so much detail. i've always said i don't think the family had anything to do with this but i do think there's something more to the story than what they are/can say. the note on the car makes even more sense if you think from the perspective of the guy hiding in the woods. you want to make sure you get to her before she gets in her car because once she hits the lock button on the doors you're sol. putting a note would cause her to pause long enough for you to make your move. (just my opinion, there is no evidence a note was left, i'm just saying it makes sense and i like simple scenarios because the real answer is most likely a simple one).

I do believe we need to hear more about the events of that morning regarding the "flurry of phone calls." Why a flurry? I imagine Drew called Karen...and apparently at that time, she had her cell with her. Maybe he said, "Your cousin (brother, uncle..etc) stopped me and my dad on grandma's land this morning and tried to throw us out while we were turkey hunting." I bet she said, "Oh good grief, he gets like that during hunting season. He's so protective of mother's land! I'm sorry it happened." Wouldn't that be the end of it? I can understand if Drew called Holly and told her what happened. But why other calls? It makes no sense to me.

I think whatever these calls were truly about is what caused Karen to freak when she heard about the scream....and she received the secretary's message.

    Outside the box:
Could the person who stopped Drew and his dad that morning have had such a fit about them hunting on grandma's land that he went on Karen's land?.....and hunted her most prized possession: Holly.

Hello all. I don't post much anymore due to other committments, but just checking in, and glad to see people not giving up hope.

    IMO only.
The opinion that I am left with is that they probably know what happened and maybe even the who, but for whatever reason they are choosing to not pursue the people involved. It appears they want to find Holly, but not pursue the person or persons involved.

It seems that from the very beginning, there was a reluctance to provide any details to help find her. We know that LE sometimes will try to keep things close to the vest, but this case went way overboard as there was hardly any informtion provided to help early on. Not even the general basic stuff which would be important to help find her, like all the items she would have had with her and colors of clothing, shoes, etc. This type of stuff needed to be released right away.

The very first press conference gave out the opinion that they may have known something terrible had happened, and maybe even suspected what may have happened, as that 1st interview provided nothing in the way of what to look for or how to help search for her. It just gave an impression that something terrible had happened.

Then, in the weeks that followed, there was hardly any information other than the items that were supposedly found, but even with that, it appears that information was provided by the searches that may have spilled the beans on what they found. Because it seems most of that was provided through the rumor mill.

Then much later, we had a few media interviews where there was nothing concrete provided, and we even saw someone literally walk out of an interview as a little too much informtion was being stated about the blood evidence. The JVM show + NG show obviously cannot have shows if there is not some basic level of cooperation in providing some information, so they stopped of course.

Then much later, we had the Jackson article, which was surprising in that it did provide a whole new set of informtion, but the question is why so late is some of this coming out, and why not share that much earlier if you want someone found.

The whole case has been like a huge effort to not allow any information out. It seems to go against the purpose of trying to find a missing person. We just recently heard about a pink purse, so again, why so late. That type of stuff is critical.

IMO, It seems that they want to find her, but also want to protect someone. That is the only thing that comes to mind when watching what has occurred.

I am glad the outside search groups are still looking, and maybe someday she can be found, and maybe some of the mysteries surrounding this case will make some sense someday.

I suppose it's just as possible as any theory I can come up with. Personally, the flurry of phone calls didn't alarm me as I was catching up. I just pictured DS calling Holly to tell her what was happening, Holly calling KB to relay the story to her, I think I read at one time KB called her mom (probably to get an answer one way or another if it was ok), KB probably called Holly back to tell her if it was ok for them to hunt and Holly calling DS back to give him the answer. To me that's a flurry of phone calls just to get a simple answer of whether it was ok.

Regarding your outside the box, on the one hand, they would likely know where Holly was and when she was leaving. On the other hand, how far is grandma's property? Would that person be able to get to Holly's home in 10 minutes or so? I never heard where grandma's property was other than "on the other side of the county".

I could easily be wrong, and often are, but I just don't see them trying to protect someone, if you are talking about a perp. From the sounds of it, there are just too many different agencies involved for that to be true. For instance, even if the local sheriff wanted to protect someone, why would the FBI, TBI etc...care to protect them. Personally, I just think you see the close to the vest approach taken by LE in too many missing person's cases and I don't think it's helpful. If anything, they be more quiet than usual because they feel they bungled the investigation in certain ways, i.e. not getting personal items to look out for to the public much earlier.

Sorry to jump in, but just wanted to share that at one point somebody had produced a map of where they thought it was based on property records, and if they were correct, they had determined it was about a 45 minute to 1 hour drive when driving about 60 MPH.

I dont recall where I even saw that map as it was a long time ago, and dont even know if the property was even accurate, so it is heresay at this point.

But do want to share that I feel some of the timelines posted in that Jackson article are suspect because of the 7:50 wake up time, when all earlier reports had 911 calls starting around 7:28 or 7:30, so for me and IMO, I tend to discount a lot of the times in the article because of that. I kind of took the article with a grain of salt as far as some of the times and informtion stated.

Like, even pointing out "clear across the county" was obviously an attempt to make it sound like it was across the country. Not only that, but when arriving to turkey hunt, people would typically arrive before sunrise, so that alone kind of makes one think that maybe the confrontation could have happened around 6:00 or 6:30 AM or maybe even earlier. I think sunrise was close to 6:30 when it was looked up, and people tend to arrive well before sunrise because you want to be in place before they fly down from their roost at sunrise.

Obviously the release of the 911 calls would help to know the times of some of the calls. Hopefully LE had pulled all the phone records that they needed. There sure would need to be a lot of phone records looked at in order to determine the accuracy of who called who and when. The public will never be privy to any of the personal calls, but the 911 calls would be helpful.

I had always wondered if LE did in fact obtain all the phone records that they needed. We made a list one time of all the phone records that would be nice to have, and the list was amazingly long. It involved a lot of people, the schools phones, etc., so I am sceptical that LE even got all the ones that they needed.

That is a good point about the different agencies, but I do wonder if maybe the TBI or local LE was the one that was more or less in control and pushed the other ones out. I think that because of something I saw fairly recently.

If you recall that person that killed a mother and kidnapped the 2 children, and they caught him soon after. Well, there was one particular interview where all the agencies had a press conference after they caught the guy, and the main FBI type guy was great and he said something very compelling. He alluded to a lot of "infighting and disagreements" in the way things were handled between the groups.

I wish I would have saved that link, but it was tough to find the video of that, and it was on a local type news channel. When I saw that, it proved to me that these agencies definitely do not get along very well, and had some past issues with the way things are handled.

Yeah, if it was that far away, I just don't see someone making it from there. I take all the times with a grain of salt. I think they are best estimates, not exact calculations. Having said that, I would imagine they are all relatively close. When I was talking 10 minutes, I was really using the neighbor hearing the scream, working off the assumption that was the front end of the abduction. Personally, I suspect the flurry of calls involving DS did, in fact, occur around 7:30. By the time the Bobo's talked about those calls, they knew LE had reviewed phone records and it, frankly, would not be wise to make up times at that point. Now, the confrontation could have still occurred earlier as you say, before 6:30, but I have no reason to doubt the flurry of phone calls was closer to 7:30.

No need to go searching for it. I appreciate the post and understand what you're saying without it. No doubt there is infighting, disagreements, territories being marked, etc...when there are different agencies involved. It certainly seems as if TBI has led the investigation, but, to me, it would be foolhardy to try to protect someone when you know you're being watched and possibly scrutinized. It's one thing to be criticized for being inept in your investigation and another to be looked at in a much more sinister light. The TBI has to know that if they raise eyebrows that they may be protecting someone, it could lead to an investigation of themselves as well.

As far as times are concerned, it would probably be a stretch to make it from the grandma's property to the Bobo property and carry out this crime. But as mentioned earlier by Hatfield, turkey hunting starts early in the morning before sunrise. We do have reports that Drew and his dad were at work by the time Holly was taken. (At least I hope I have that part correct).
However, the flurry of calls could not have occurred too early, otherwise Karen would have still been at home.
I have always been amazed that Karen arrived back home as quickly as she did. We've been told the school where she works is about 25-30 minutes away and yet she was back at the house just after 8am.

ETA: Oops....I just reread your list. Its # 23. I must be tired. BTW, I simply refuse to believe in Big Foot.:D

Does my, person who leaves notes on her windshield, weird texts or phone calls qualify for a theory? Not saying it is going to solve the case but I threw it out there! =)
