Investigators in Tennessee are searching for a missing mother of four who disappeared four days ago.

Karen Johnson Swift, 44, was last seen by her husband at her home in Dyersburg at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 30. Dyersburg is about 75 miles northeast of Memphis.

Swift's car, a white 2004 Nissan Murano, was found less than a mile away with a flat tire. The car has been sent to a crime lab in Nashville for forensic testing.

What happened to Karen Swift? It's a question on the mind's of families in the community of Dyer County. The 44 year old mother of four was last seen Sunday morning around 1:30 a.m. at her home.
In spite of grueling searches, few clues have emerged.
Authorities found her 2004 Murano on the side of the road near Harness and Millsfield Highway just about a quarter mile from her home. The SUV had a flat tire. Still, there's no sign of Swift.

It’s day three in the search for a mother in Dyersburg who just vanished. Investigators say the longer Karen Swift remains missing, the better chance this is a case of foul play. The mother of four was in the process of a divorce. Her family talked with abc24.com on Wednesday, November 2, 2011.

Deputies arrest man accused of poisoning Swift's dog
Dyer County Sheriff's deputies arrested a suspect on an outstanding felony warrant for animal cruelty while searching for evidence in the Karen Johnson Swift case.
John E. Hogshooter, 39, 285 Pennell Lane, was arrested by sheriff's officers on Saturday for aggravated animal cruelty while performing their search of a wooded area on Harness Road in Dyer County. Hogshooter is accused of poisoning two dogs in the area, one of which belonged to the Swifts.

Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box said the investigation into Karen Swift's disappearance is continuing and released photos of Swift's vehicle where it was found on Millsfield Highway on the date of her disappearance.
The photos show Swift's white 2004 Nissan Murano pointed north on Millsfield Highway on the shoulder of the highway. Investigators believe the vehicle was originally headed south (into Dyersburg), but had a flat tire and the vehicle pulled across the oncoming lane and was parked in the opposite direction.

Friend says police have found missing mom's clothing
Police trying to solve the disappearance of Karen Johnson Swift have recovered her clothing, the woman's friend reports. Swift, a mother of four, has been missing since her car was found abandoned on a rural Tennessee road on Oct. 30.
"They found her Halloween costume in the car. Some other articles of clothing that belonged to her -- a pair of jeans and a gray zip-up -- were found in some brush not far from her car. They confirmed [the clothing items] belong to her. They took DNA from her mother and compared it to DNA on the clothes," Swift's friend Laura Jane told The Huffington Post.

Clothing discovered in bushes near the car of a missing mother-of-four belonged to her, a friend has claimed.
Karen Johnson Swift, 44, has not been seen for 12 days after she was reported missing by her husband on October 30.
A pair of jeans and a grey zip-up top were found by the side of the road close to where Mrs Johnson Swift's car was abandoned, a quarter of a mile from her home in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

More potential evidence collected in Swift case

Agents with the TBI's Violent Crimes Response Team in Memphis processed potential evidence at the residence of Karen Swift on Willie Johnson Road on Thursday. Dyer County Sheriff's Chief Investigator Terry McCreight stated the forensic agents were there because it was the last place Swift was seen and a part of the process of the investigation.

The TBI is stepping up efforts to find a missing Dyersburg woman. Karen Swift disappeared nearly two weeks ago. Now investigators are bringing in heavy duty equipment to help with the search.
"I think every day we're closer, and we're not getting discouraged," says Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box.
Dyer County investigators are holding out hope as they gather needed clues into the disappearance of Karen Swift. The only real clue so far, is Swift's car.
