Jackson police are continuing their search for Latoyoa Cole, a woman who went missing on Sunday under suspicious circumstances, according to authorities.

Anyone with information should immediately contact the Jackson Police at 425-8400 or Crime Stoppers at 424-8477.

Police responded to a 911 hang-up call to check welfare at 61 Sherwood Lane at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, according to a press release.

Officers found the residence deserted. They did note there was blood and other evidence that indicated possible foul play, the release said.

Cole is believed to have been at the Sherwood Lane residence alone before the police call was made. The release said Cole on Monday had still not contacted relatives and is considered missing and endangered.

This doesn't sound good if there was blood and other evidence of foul play at the apt where she had been. I wonder if she had been involved with anyone. They need to get a picture of her out there so people can watch for her. I hope she is alright and maybe hiding somewhere.

Wanda Cole said that she always suspected that her daughter's estranged boyfriend had something to do with her Dec. 9 disappearance.

Four months later, Frederick Lamont Moore, 38, of Jackson, is being held without bond on a first-degree murder charge for the slaying of Wanda Cole's 25-year-old daughter, LaToya.

"I'm glad the police found enough evidence to develop him as a suspect and that it confirmed what we (the family) knew and felt he had done," Cole said Wednesday morning. "I hope and pray he gets the punishment he deserves."

Wanda Cole and other family members stated in a December interview with The Jackson Sun that they thought Moore was responsible for LaToya's disappearance. They also talked about the estranged couple's history together.

The following is portions of an interview the family gave on Dec. 14, four days after LaToya was reported missing. It was not published previously because police had not named Moore as a suspect in the slaying.
