TN - Memphis - Man Randomly Shooting & Posting Videos on Facebook, 3 dead - 9 Sept 2022 *arrest*

Wow! If he was working in a home with elderly people, that place needs a Joint Commission review, stat! No one with a violent criminal record should be working in any place with access to vulnerable people.

There is a problem with the hiring process. All people who work with seniors should have a criminal background check.

Belated and a bit OT, BUT based on personal experience in retirement community, all it takes is one dishonest employee in an admin position to hire a buddy and not do the required background check. We had a new housekeeper we didn’t trust (for no apparent reason except gut instinct) so we kept a close eye on her. All of a sudden she was gone. When we inquired, one of the administrators whispered in my ear to check local mugshots…there were FIVE of them for this woman…all for identity theft and using client’s credit cards!! Fortunately, the grandson of one of her victims was a new hire and recognized her. Soon after, her dishonest admin buddy left too or would have been fired.

So the hiring process definitely needs to be looked into, but it’s not a guarantee, so trust your instincts!

Accused Memphis mass shooter Ezekiel Kelly appears in court
Jan 5, 2023

"Ezekiel Kelly, the man accused of going on a shooting rampage last year that resulted in the city being placed on lockdown for hours, appeared in court Thursday morning."

"We have the autopsy and all the autopsy photos from the three victims, as well as all the crime scene photos. We will get those to her by the end of the week,” Shelby County Assistant D.A. Chris Lareau said."

"Kelly’s reset date is set for March 2 which will allow both sides to review what’s referred to as discovery – simply stated it’s the exchange of legal information and known facts – connected to the case.

“This is giving the defense proof of what evidence we have against Mr. Kelly,” Edwards said.

The state let the court know they have received 813 pages of discovery and will hand those over to the defense."
