Well. Sorry should have clarified- not a well like you pump from. Just well water as your source of fresh water from a well!

Some kids are unusually clingy or affectionate but my opinion is that Summer appears to be absolutely craving physical attention and affection.

If we observed this behavior in the clinic where I work it would be considered a red flag for sure.

    Again, MOO.

They seem to have a well ? And Rogersville public health under the water dept doesn't have the address listed. Also, the area has both a shared well and also individual wells. Do you have info on the community being connected to public water?

Hhhmm-if they have a well then they likely have their own septic too

None, I didn't even think to check, that's why I asked. I'm one county over and my property is equally rural and on a hill almost exactly like the Wells property. We have public water (though we also have a well and septic tank). I just assumed the Wells had a similar set up. Now, our well doesn't supply the house water or anything, and the pump is electric, but our well is in a well house to prevent freezing. Do we see anything like that on the Wells property anywhere ? Or would it be something underground? Maybe that's a stupid question, I don't know. I'm only familiar with my own well.

Good call out. As horrific a thought as either are, they both need to be inspected carefully if not already.

What is a well on a hill like?
Is it like an inch thick pipe through the mountain with a pump above ground?

Or is it like a big hole straight through the mountain with a bucket on a cable?

I image that a few generations ago, it would be a big hole with a bucket?

I have well water at my house and it's completely underground. Where I am they drill down extremely far into the bedrock and water is pumped into the house through a pipe. It's all automated these days. We get to -40 up here and we've never had a problem with the well or the pump in the 5 years we've lived here. It's pretty common in my region - even million dollar mansions have their own wells.

Wells are incredibly expensive-we have a well and depth to water is 1000ft. Ours was around $30k if they are half that dept then half the cost of course-nothing potable I believe above 100ft though. There is a pump at the bottom and the hole is encased-maybe a 4inch hole. Then there is a pressure tank(usually blue) and a pressure pump outside the well

Do any of you have really old dried up wells that are no longer in use?
I don't know how people used to live on hills like 100 years ago?
    Did they dig big holes?

Does anyone know for how long people have lived on the Wells's hill?
And if there are old wells, tunnels or caves.
Could Summer have fallen into some old covered structure?

    This is JMO...

They have FBI, TBI and local Sheriff on the ground working to figure out what happened to Summer. I would bet the farm that the FBI has drawn up a suspect profile and they are telling TBI and/or Sheriff to leak certain information. IMO Chris is a recipient of that information. If asked, they’d deny it or refuse to comment but it happens often and can get results.

Quite a few old dry wells where I am and legally they are supposed to capped off-roughly same size whole though, the ones I have seen and I can’t confirm the age

Anything is possible. And for some reason in this case my gut says she is alive. I realize that is probably wishful thinking but I don’t always feel like that.

LOL...well, I'm not on a mountain I'm on a hill, like the Wells. But yes, it's just a pipe with an electric pump above ground with a little insulated well house built around it. To be honest, I laughed out loud when people were suggesting that Summer might have fallen into an open well or something, because the only well I've ever seen is ours. Maybe I was coming from a place of ignorance ? I don't know.
