There are some wonderful foster families out there and some wonderful outcomes of children removed from unsafe living conditions.
CPS don't want your children.
These kids are not removed for added trauma. The opposite actually.

Those kids may just be thriving.
And personal opinion the odds are that they are indeed.

Its the best thing for all of them including Don and Candus.
If something positive can comes out of all this, don't we wish that for them?

Thats my perspective.:)
 
That new sketch of Summer being floated is a travesty to her case.
No way that fine featured little girl suddenly grew large face bones and an entirely different head shape in 2 years.

IMO they have simply morphed a picture of Summer and a picture of her mother Candus at the same age.
And Summer is nothing like her mother...she is fine featured exactly like her father Don. That doesn't change with your growth.

Just one more element of circus to this poor little babys case.

The age progression picture was released by the TBI, stamped by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and completed by a forensic imaging specialist. Bone structure accuracy is important. They look at parents & siblings as a reference point. imo

Not sure how this picture is an element of a circus or a travesty to this case. imo

I do agree with you to some extent. They have plumped her face out and to be honest, she looks a lot older than 7 in that photo, I feel it is more 9-10 possibly 11, in the photo. My son is in grade 3 and none of the girls in his class look that old.

I think it's worth noting that DCS does not comment on cases. The author can state whatever they like, knowing there will be no response.

I also thought that the Wells' were prevented by the court from commenting on any DCS actions regarding their family.

As far as the new sketch of Summer by the NCMEC, I think it's is probably very accurate. They use professional artists who use pictures of the family, and a professional scientific approach based upon years of experience. It's not someone fooling around with photoshop and filters. Just because their rendering isn't how someone imagines Summer would look doesn't make it incorrect.

Agreed and well put - at this point, that website is someone's opinion (and not even a family member's opinion, at that), not facts. It's an interesting read, to be sure, but probably we are at the stage where mods should revisit whether it should be considered an "allowed" source here.

At best, it demonstrates a profound misunderstanding of a DCS investigation on the part of the person who wrote it. DCS can close one case and open another one the very next day if new allegations are lodged or filed by mandated reporters and ruled "founded." And it doesn't matter if charges in Summer's disappearance are ever filed, all that matters is whether the parents "worked their plan" to get the surviving kids back. If the plan says "clean up the house," and you didn't do it -- if the plan says "go to drug treatment, " and you didn't do it -- if the plan says "go to anger management classes" and you didn't do it - your rights to parent can and will be severed if you don't make progress even if they never charge you with anything criminal. IMO

Edit to say, because I'm getting heated about this - being an "Amber Alert family" or having something terrible happen to one of your kids (even if it was in no way your fault), does not absolve you of appropriately parenting your other children.
