Found Deceased TN - Tamia Taylor, 21, met friend at 11:30pm and got on a riverboat, when riverboat docked she was missing, Memphis, 9 Sep 2023

There were two parties: one at her place on Fri night and one on the riverboat Sat night. This neighbor attended the one on Fri night held at Tamia's place there on the hill. A disturbance occurred that upset Tamia.

My question is did the same people attend both parties? If so, which ones?
Thank you - the story is very disjointed was my point. Why mention the disturbance, then not state what it was?

Could very well be, but my hunch is she left with (or was lured, taken) by someone on the dock in the shuffle of everyone disembarking, continued birthday celebrations elsewhere and something happened.

:(

There are rumors of exactly that going around, but that’s all they are right now: rumors.

One thing the neighbor did say, according to the article, was that coworkers attended the Friday night party. Usually you have one circle of work friends so it’s possible they were the same ones who went on the boat. However, maybe the Saturday group were unable to make the Friday night party and so took her out Saturday night.??? Who knows at this point.
The article was just click bait, hinting at something sinister, then never explaining what exactly happened.

I finally saw the video of Tamia dancing on the boat. She definitely looked really out of it, so the most logical explanation for her disappearance is that she fell into the water.

In my younger drinking days, I remember creepy men watching me from across the room, and then trying to get me to go with them to their car or home. Fortunately, I was still coherent enough to say no, but I think Tamia leaving with a stranger is also a possibility.

I do not think her friends were in any way involved in her disappearance. Intoxicated people don't act rational and often lose, or leave behind, phones and other personal items. They are also bad at keeping track of friends. I have seen that plenty of times when at local bars, back in the day.

*idk what in the heck happened but I don’t think she’s in the water. I think someone must have taken advantage of her alcohol infused situation.
From the video, at 1:42: "When the party boat docked only Taylor's phone was found, near a bathroom on the boat, with no sign of Taylor."
(Another version of the whereabouts of Tamia's phone)

The 21 year old fell overboard, by the sound of it. Are there alligators in the water?
Here is the range of the American Alligator. However, they probably would not pose a risk. Drowning is much more of a risk.

The alligator population is probably fairly sparse.
Alligator attacks usually happen in Florida where human/alligator contact is more habitual.

We have alligators in Texas, they are generally not considered a risk. "Leave them alone and they leave you alone".
Around here, they live in a lake south of town and sometimes wander off. They seem to be more solitary around here than in areas with large populations.

I don't think alligators are a factor in this case. American alligator - Wikipedia

Exactly my point!

This stood out to me:

Taylor reportedly texted her mom twice Saturday night. But when the party boat docked, only Taylor’s phone was found near a bathroom on the boat. Since then, there has been an extensive search by multiple agencies with no sign of Taylor.
IMO - So the tale about leaving her phone with her friends doesn’t seem to be true then, because why would her friends who have been left with the phone, just get off the boat & leave the phone of the 21st birthday girl just sitting on a table?? I just don’t understand how a birthday girl just disappears - where I am from, the birthday girl would be centre of attention all night & simply could not just ‘vanish’ as the birthday girl wouldn’t be left alone, maybe I’m just old but the thought of people going out with someone for their birthday & seemly taking no notice of her whilst she is out celebrating her birthday with you just seems incredibly strange to me personally. MOO

Her mother initially told police she didn’t think her daughter made it onto the boatbecause a friend told her she didn’t. An update from police, however, said she boarded the boat, police said.

“When the riverboat docked, the friends could not locate Tamia,” police said in the release.
seems that tickets are usually advance purchase or pay with a card... should be a record
maybe even a record of what she had to drink

I can see it happening like this: Tamia and her friends are all tipsy. She leaves her phone on the table because she doesn’t have pockets, doesn’t register setting it down, whatever. The friends pick it up and wait by the door since the cruise is over. There is a lot going on with people disembarking and they wonder if Tamia already left the boat because they don’t see her. They leave the boat, still with her phone. When they don’t connect with her on the dock, they figure she must have caught a ride. They obviously can’t call her. It makes sense if everyone was tipsy.
I imagine 300 people at 1 a.m. a bit drunk and all leaving a boat as moderate chaos. The boat web site tells you there is no onsite parking-so people are stumbling around trying to remember where their cars are... sounds chaotic.

The midnight booze cruise can carry up to 300 passengers. I wonder how many were on board that night. They recommend advance ticketing because some of the cruises do sell out. This should give LE the names of most, if not all, of the passengers. They also say there is a DJ on board. I imagine that it is probably mostly full on a Saturday night
I picture it as crowded and noisy so easy to lose track of some one esp if people were dancing, getting drinks at the bar, etc.

Sifting through everything, so far I've been thinking that way too. Maybe she simply bent over the railing too far while dancing/twerking and lost her balance? Who was taking that video? Someone who was holding her phone for her while she danced? I also have been pondering if someone saw her go over and scrammed the heck out of there.

I hope they find her and her poor loved ones get answers and closure.

Now the phone was found by the bathroom and not taken by the friends who said she left the phone on the table while going to the restroom. Very confusing.

Was just checking in for any updates.
This case is no clearer than it was at the start.
Hoping for answers for Tamia's concerned loved ones soon.

I want to think she is somehow ok, or if staying away of her own volition-- that she's just embarrassed because she wished to walk away from her life.
I kind of doubt it, though.
Her young kids make that seem highly unlikely !
From her mom's and other relatives' reaction I believe she is loved and missed terribly; I can't imagine what they're going through.

Still on the fence about any random strangers or the group she was with , so much of the story seems to keep changing !
Omo.
