Travis came over to our house at least every week, we had family dinners and we would always ask him about, how’s his love life, who’s he dating and recently, at that time, he had decided to leave Jodi and explained that the next day he was going to leave in his car and his tires were slashed,” Dr. Hiatt said on HLN. “And the Sunday after that, he told us about it, and said, ‘Don’t be surprised if one of these Sundays, I don’t show up and you find me dead someplace."

I think for a lot of people the problem is rationalizing that he could have felt that way but still saw her, cared for her, or had sex with her. (Depending on your personal theory as there are many.)

It doesn't make sense. It defies all logic and sense of reason. So does abuse though and many things we like to think we'd never do, tolerate or overlook abuse victims are compelled to do, tolerate and overlook. It isn't about inherent strength, willpower, or assertiveness. That comes later for victims as they become survivors.

While still in the abuse, or just coming out of it, many of their actions or inaction are a direct result of the abuse itself.

JMO and FWIW

ETA: A really good example I often use is me screaming bloody murder to my ex-husband in public if he was going to kill me to just get on with it already. It was irrational and foolish, and something I'm not likely to do again, but at the time I was hurting, angry, confused, exhausted and absolutely drained from the threats.

Morning folks, just drawing up a chair to watch the jury hammer the good psychologist.

Reading on the last thread, I noticed a number of people who pointed me to the videos of Travis' friends who showed up on HLN for the first time last night. Obviously, they have been released from their subpoenas.

Based on the fact that Juan Martinez cut his CIC short, he may have decided to let the defense do their duty in presenting their self-defense. He already knew what their experts were going to say and he was super-prepared.

I believe he will mainly aim his rebuttal case at further deflating the psycho-babble and up-coming DV drivel.

IF he presents any friend of Travis to testify to Jodi's behavior, it will be the absolutely BEST one of all who can testify to as many of her behaviors as have been questioned.

He's not going to waste a moment of the jury's time. IMHO
