I don't know but what stood out for me was her claim that Jodi was "normal" in her view. Never witnessed any inappropriate behavior. I don't believe her. That or she is a lousy judge of character. She had to have witnessed something in all that time they spent together. IMO

During a previous appearance on NG, JA's friend was asked what she thought about JA growing pot in the 8th grade. The friend replied in a stoned-sounding voice, "I'm not gonna comment on that."

:cow: Right or wrong, my initial impression of her after hearing that response was not good. :notgood:

I think we should stop feeding into the migraine story----has she been diagnosed with migraines by a Medical Doctor? No more migraine talk...she had a headache thats it!

Did you notice her little fake cough when she was standing while the jurors were reentering the courtroom only to be dismissed for the day?

Respectfully copied this post from Kmouse- it is her transcription of actual trial testimony, BBM, also note she was there until they moved to YREKA for high school. Jodi would have been 15 as a freshman.

Jodi Arias takes the stand part 2
JODI ARIAS takes the stand
PART 2

--Objection is overruled.

--Jodi is asked to speak up so that everybody can hear her.
--Mother hit Jodi and her brother with the wooden spoon. Sometimes Mother would pull the car over and hit them with the spoon. It left welts.
--Father used a belt, was very intimidating and did not have to use the belt as often as her Mother.
--The incidents were frequent and intense. They increased in frequency as Jodi got older. Mother beat Jodi with the spon...it seemed like 4x a week to 1x every two weeks. It depended.
--Jodi lived in Selinas until age 11.
--Jodi and her brother did after school activities. Jodi began to get into art, her pets were very central in her life, read a lot of books, took karate lessons, flute lessons.
--re: art, Jodi liked to color when she was younger. Was fascinated by art and began to practice what she saw.
--beatings from parents continued. Increased all the way through the teenaged years.
--the level of the brutality increased. Jodi and her brother would squirm and the harder they would squirm the harder her parents would try and hit them.
--Mother broke the brother's vein once.
--as she became a teenager Father became rougher and rougher.
--Nurmi asks how she felt when her own mother was beating her. Jodi felt betrayed and confused and as she got older it made her mad because it hurt. It put a strain on their relationship but Jodi still loved her.
--re: Father and the beatings getting rougher. Father shoved her into furniture. Never used his fists. Side of her head hit a door post one time and it momentarily knocked her out. When she came to her Mother was there and told the Father to be careful. This happened when Jodi was 16-17 years old. She was arguing with her mother at the time.
--Sometimes she got grounded which became the norm in high school.
--re: beatings from Father. Jodi loved him.
--At age 11 moved to Santa Maria, CA. The pushing into furniture started then. Would have been in grades 6-8. Jodi was going to school with Carl at this time.
-
-Jodi's interests were trying to make new friends. Says it seemed like she was constantly going to new schools due to moving.
--Focused on her art in Junior High. Took art class. Mentored by her art teacher.
--Parents did not discourage her interest in art. Classmates and art teacher gave her a lot of praise. Parents were indifferent. Didn't really bother her at that time.
--Enrolled in art school for a few weeks. Other family members were more encouraging with her art. Parents never went out of their way to display it.

--Jodi went to high school, for Grade 9 they moved to Yreka and she went to Yreka Union High School. Grades 9-12.
--Jodi entered in her freshman year.
--Beatings from Father continued through the high school years.
--Right before they moved to Santa Maria, Jodi snuck out the house and she snuck back in and when her father asked her where she was her Father smacked her across the face 2x. Open handed hard slap. No bleeding. No bruising. It hurt.
--Father was very big at that time, he is frail now due to his health. Father is 5'11" and used to bench press 520 lbs.
--Mother was aware of Father beating her when she was present. Both parents punished Jodi.
--When Jodi turned 16-17 years old she doesn't remember Mother carrying the spoon anymore. Mother would grab whatever was around like a hair brush. Mother had acrylic nails so she would dig her nails in.
--In high school Jodi traveled to Costa Rica to learn Spanish better.
--Did not have many friends. Had a large circle but nobody she was very close with.
--Interes art continued.
--Worked in high school at her Dad's restaurant. Worked as a server from the age of 15. Worked afternoons and weekends.
--Jodi did not graduate high school because at the time, says it is complicated.
--Jodi dropped out of high school. She was living with her boyfriend at the time outside of Yreka.
--Jodi moved out of her parents home to live with the boyfriend because she was getting tired of the discipline. A few months before she turned 18 her parents grounded her until she was to turn 19 because she skipped a class. She skipped the class to study for an exam. She was studying and her Dad found her in her car and grounded her for a few months until she turned 18.
--This was towards the end of her senior year in high school in May.
--Got Fs because she "let it all fall apart".
--There was a physical incident of abuse where she was knocked against the door frame and Jodi then moved in with her boyfriend. Packed boxes and moved them to the boyfriends. Most of the stuff was at his place so when she was grounded she moved out.
--Turned 18 that summer and worked at a restaurant full time as there was bills to pay.
--Bobby Juarez was the boyfriend and he was unemployed. Bobby was three years older than Jodi. He had never been employed at that point.
--Met Juarez when she was 15, the first summer she moved to Yreka, the carnival came to town and she saw Juarez walking in a crowd. He caught her eye. He was dressed in 18th century goth clothing. It was July/August and it was hot and Juarez was dressed in a black suit and a high collared white shirt. Long dark curly hair. Jodi found Juarez intriguing.
--Spend the day at the fair, was waiting for her friends to go on the zipper ride. Saw Juarez again and he motioned for Jodi to come over. She walked up to him. They went on the zipper ride together, they parted and she did not see him for a while.
--later saw Juarez at a homecoming football game. They reintroduced themselves and Jodi gave him her phone number.
--They did not date right away, they were just friends for several months, Juarez was seeing somebody else at the time.
--Around new years they decided to become boyfriend/girlfriend.
--Jodi did not have a car or her licence yet. Juarez would come to town and meet her at a gas station by the school. They would hang out and hold hands.
--Juarez wanted to move to San Franciso and had other wild ideas and Jodi was 15 so she broke up with him.
--Juarez maintained the belief in vampires and read Ann Rice novels and wanted to go to San Fran to look for vampires.
--Jodi broke up with Juarez over the telephone. Juarez was very upset. Jodi says he didn't take it well. Nurmi asks what that means and Martinez objects.

This was for you Auburn Schnauzer.

I still haven't found the portion of the interview with Sandy Arias but she does state that it happened when JA was 14- the pot growing incident, and I am almost certain she stated that they were getting ready to move from Santa Maria, and she was searching for her missing tupperware when she came across the pot.

Does anyone else remember this?

What IS your deal with Santa Maria, if I might ask?

I no longer care to pander to her or her defense and couldn't care less what she "has". She's guilty. She's admitted to it. Can we pleeease move on to the sentencing phase?

If guilty by self-defense is admissible by law then perhaps the law should "catch up" to the admission and begin with the mitigation???

:rocker: I agree ... too much time is being spent on what Jodi has -- or may not have ... WASTE, IMO ...

Time to get back to the ONLY issue that counts, IMO :

Jodi is GUILTY of pre-meditation murder !

:moo:

I wudn't read too much into that ...it's probably just personal preference. My DH and I are always do the up and down battle with our computer chair....he likes it real low and I like it real high.

Additionally... Aren't there court cases held prior to State vs. Jodi Arias? this may be the reason for the modifications of the chair levels...

Just a thought...

and just to be fair... It sounds to me like JW could have been saying..."betcha"... As in "You betcha."...Or talking to herself saying ... "Which?"... As in " Which paper is it?"

I am trying to be fair because I have so much animosity towards Jodi and DT... That I don't think it is healthy for me..:giggle:

I've been diagnosed with those same conditions for many years. This Dr D has clarified it so much for me. While she was testifying, I'm just going 'Wow! that makes it so easy to understand.' Wish I could talk to her some more.

All of it. Never had the desire or compulsion for murder though. In spite of the personality malfunctions, it's still all a matter of choices for me. Jodi made the CHOICE to murder. There were other options. She CHOSE this one and needs to be held responsible.

The one big thing that stood out to me today was the very limitted objections by Juan Martinez. To me that speaks volumes of his faith in his expert witness, and not once did she look to him for help, unlike Dr. Samuels or ALV who were constantly looking to the DT for hints on how to answer or begging for an objection to get their butts out of hot water. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this one lady a solid 10 as an expert witness.

Did y'all hear JW try to accuse either the witness or JM of copyright violations today?! What a dam joke. JW is either very ignorant when it comes to the law of copyrights or she was once again trying to intimidate. There was no C/R violation with her reviewing evidence with JM. The DT has nothing for this witness and it is obvious.

Bill Arias mentioned it in his interview with Det. Flores.

I think she's 32, but I'm kinda foggy so don't quote me.

She graduated from college in 1992. So if she went right from HS, that would make her 21 in '92, so born in '71 and about 42'ish. Which is also why she's not the person in the court record posted here recently -- unless she's a prodigy and I understand the general consensus is that she is not ;) That person was born in 1980 or thereabouts.

I'm just trying to understand WHY Wilmot said this. Was she trying to intimidate the witness somehow? She is unshakeable IMO. She didn't bite.

Sounded to me like Willmott was taken the word of her already discredited other professional witnesses.

I missed it. Can you give me a quick run down on what her so-called friend said as it pertains to SM?

Her friend told a story that makes no sense.

PATTI: That picture is a picture of all of us girls together. We had -- there were three of us best friends, and we had rode the bus to the mall from (inaudible) to Santa Maria (ph). And it was the first time that we had all rode this bus, so we made, like, a dozen wrong turns. So it took us instead of an hour to get to one spot, it took us like four hours just to get to the mall. And it was just a really good time. It was fun.

GRACE: So you took a bus to take that photo?

PATTI: Yes.

==============================================

Trying to figure this out. :waitasec: The busdriver made a dozen wrong turns? Really? The bus driver took 4 hours to make a one hour run?

Something is wrong with this story. That was not a regular bus route, obviously. It sounds more like they were hitchhiking, imo.

I have a transcript of that part of the mother interview. It's in my shorthand. :)

i said youve got this fantasy in your head that you had a rotten childhood and that we searched your room all the time
and that we did all this stuff, and we didnt and you need some help because that didnt happen.
the only time we ever searched her room was when she was in the 8th grade and she was,
we lived in santa maria
and she was growing pot and we were getting ready to move
couldn't find my tupperware containers, she had them on the roof
growing pot on the roof with her friends
and so we called the police and turned her in
we wanted something done to scare her or whatever
and thats the only time i have ever searched her room.

Did you notice her little fake cough when she was standing while the jurors were reentering the courtroom only to be dismissed for the day?

Yes, and we covered this earlier - I also noticed after she fake-coughed, she immediately took those beady eyes over the jurors to see if any of them noticed said fake cough...

I think she wass trying to unsettle JD's confidence, and make her uneasy about offering up additional findings. It didn't work. :great:

Today's observations...

Wilmott didn't appear to to say the B word. She seemed to be muttering to herself at half-volume about getting the pages the witness was asking to see before answering her question. While I'm sure it annoyed Wilmott to no end to have to hunt for the page(s), she would NOT have said such a thing in open court.

Dr. Demarte is a fantastic witness. One, she knows her stuff. Two, she answers quickly and simply, leaving no room for the examiner to exploit her responses. She listens VERY carefully to each question and politely asks for a repeat or rephrase if she can't make heads or tails of a longwinded quasi-question. She is probably a fantastic evaluator for these very reasons.

I'm sure Wilmott is used to tripping up weaker witnesses with her 'friendly until she bites' approach. I'm entirely certain she is not as ill-prepared as she seems to the lay viewer. By feigning confusion it can cause know-it-all witnesses to get chatty and say way too much. Thankfully, it doesn't seem to be working for her with this gal...

Oh my gosh Smelly Squirrel! You are the best! I was almost certain that is what I had heard- several times.

I will be the first one to admit when I am wrong, but I don't like being called out on something, with no proof, and then ignored, just sayin'... it's been a long day, I think!
