Oscar Pistorius: South Africa gears up for its 'trial of the century'

(CNN) -- He was one of South Africa's favorite sons, an amputee track star who defied all the odds and sprinted into the hearts of millions during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She was a staggering beauty with the brains to match, a law graduate and model whose star was on the rise.

    From prior thread:

    1. I was not praising her, but I did observe that she tended to favor the defense.

    2. I am not a "CDA" as I have stated, and I believe that there have been admonitions about personalizing posts in such manner.

    3. I have absolutely ZERO stake in whether OP is found guilty or acquitted of all charges. I am interested in what the evidence shows.

    4. He did not refuse to call the police - he called Stander at 3:19 and asked him to call ambulance; he called Netcare at 3:20; He called security at 3:21. He was not trying to hide what had happened.

And a person's actions after the fact are not typically evidence of premeditation in any event - actions after the fact can be seen as "consciousness of guilt" if they are obviously designed to misdirect an investigation or to prevent the discovery of potentially criminal acts and evidence. That did not happen here - not even a little bit.

    BBM part I question.
OP supposedly could not or would not give a pass code for a cell phone that if it was indeed his was, according to ST's testimony, had to have been accessed many times a day. Then there's the cell phone that he did not give to police at all but instead gave directly to his defense who then withheld it for something like 5 days before disclosing it's existence and apparently only after having it examined and possibly scrubbed, as well as deliberately washing his hands and face before being examined by forensics stating he had permission.... oh and then there's the whole moving the body who by his own defense lawyer had to have already been deceased... and that's just off the top of my head. Also, who insisted on him needing clothes and a watch from the crime scene? Just wondering eh?

    Nel examining.

4 shots hit the bathroom door. Explaining how he placed Reeva on toilet seat but wound on hip too low for that.

Cpt M: 'Most likely she was in a standing position between the toilet and the door'

'She was standing in front of the door, facing the door'

taking all the measurements into account..

bullet hole A = wound on the hip.. in terms of the door.. she was standing in front of the door, facing the door.

this bullet penetrated and broke her hip bone completely. . she would collapse.. she wouldn't be able to stand. she slumps down.

she didn't fall right onto the floor her head shot would not strike as she would be too low

she fell down on top of the magazine rack... slumping..

the next shot missed her, deflected, fragmented, and the fragments hit her on the back..

Cpt M: The hip wound caused her to fall down....importance of magazine rack. If she fell on the floor arm and head wound too low. If she fell on the mag rack, they line up. After the hip wound, she fell down on the mag rack and was hit by bullet (hole B).

He says the bruises on her back caused by bullet fragments.

    This is big evidence.

That explains the wounds on her back and bruises behind her knee and shin.

    Reeva's hip wound:

    93.5cm off the floor, or
    93cm heel to hip.

With bullet fired at an angle of 5/6m degrees

Roux seemed very intent on discounting the photos that showed blood on both sides of the cricket bat. I wonder if this shows that the bat was used for more than just breaking the door down, i.e. had direct contact with Reeva. Supposedly according to op's statement the blood came from oscar dragging Reevas body out of the toilet and dripping over the bat on the floor, but this would account for only one side having blood on it. That both sides had a lot of blood on them and it was in a smeared pattern rather than driplets is suggestive of something else going on.
    Very incriminating imo.
I wonder how defense will explain away this evidence...

the path .. it richochets at E deflects at F and fragments of it hit her across the back..

this richocheting shot missed her as a whole bullet, but struck her as a fragment.

the bullet has lost a lot of energy, it is not penetrative, but bruising.

    2 more bullets.

most probably seated in he defensive position. ( he puts himself in this position on the stand)

    it looks so sad..

I missed something while drifting off.

He just showed the position he thought Reeva was in - hands over her head, trying to hide. That's who the arm wound's so high.

Really sounds like she saw what was coming. :(
