Tornado terror as two massive 200MPH storms LEVEL Nebraska town with more terrifying twisters on the way

Witnesses in Pilger, Nebraska said Monday evening that the prairie village of around 370 presidents had been nearly wiped off the face of the earth
Twin tornadoes measured to have had the fearsome EF-4 rating struck the so-called 'Town Too Tuff To Die' starting Monday afternoon
There were early reports of injuries by no immediate reports of fatalities
Nearby Stanton, a bigger town of 1,500, was also hit hard by the brutal cyclone

Double Tornadoes Touch Down In Nebraska

Reports of double tornadoes appearing in Nebraska are flooding Twitter. Areas mentioned include Wisner, Pender, and Pilger — all in northeastern Nebraska.

"We do have a tornadic thunderstorm in northeast Nebraska moving toward the Iowa border," National Storm Prediction Center forecaster Bill Bunting told Reuters. "It's obviously a very dangerous situation in those areas."

This picture, from Matt Coker, co-founder of Twister Trackers, shows the magnitude of the situation there.

One dead after twin tornadoes blast Nebraska

At least one person has died and scores more injured after two tornadoes struck in Nebraska on Monday.

One fatality has been brought into Faith Regional Medical Center in Norfolk and at least 15 people have been brought in with critical injuries, said Jacque Genovese, the hospital's director of marketing and public information officer for the weather incident. More of the injured were being brought in, Genovese said.

Severe weather blasts Nebraska, one fatality reported amid damage

(CNN) -- Nebraska was pummeled by a round of dangerous severe weather Monday with one fatality reported and the governor's office saying at least four towns had been hit hard.

Damage was reported Pilger, Wisner, Stanton and Pender, all in northeast Nebraska. The city of Pilger was closed to all but emergency personnel, according to the state's emergency management agency.
Sightings of a rare "double tornado" are also being reported, according to CNN meteorologist Chad Meyers.

Sanford Goshorn, the Stanton County, Nebraska, emergency manager, told CNN he couldn't confirm numbers of people injured after tornado-like winds hit the rural Nebraska county saying, "We're still digging people out."

They were just talking about this on CNN, expecting more tonight. That would be even more scary to me at night. Like when the hurricanes come in the dark here.

Stunned Neb. town devastated by twisters; 2 dead

The tiny northeast Nebraska town of Pilger was digging out from tragedy Tuesday, a day after at least two people were killed and dozens more were injured when tornadoes roared through parts of the state.

All the residents of Pilger — the town's website claims a population of 378 — evacuated their homes, many leaving for shelters in nearby towns.

"More than half of the town is gone — absolutely gone,"

So scary, this is about an hour northeast of me. In typical Nebraska fashion, we didn't even get rain here. One of the fatalities was a 6 year old girl, her mom was taken to an Omaha hospital. Such a tragic reminder to never take anything for granted...
