According to the Texas newspaper "The Houston Daily Post" February 6, 1896
A report from Paris Texas the day before reported that at Antlers I.T. {Indian Territory {Oklahoma}} a horse with a bloody saddle was found. A choctow named Will McAllister told law officers that two men in jail-Tom Davis and Taylor Hickman who had killed a white man named Lee Crumm near Antlers-claimed to McAllister that they had killed and robbed $60.00 from the stranger a month before killing of Crumm. THe "John Doe" body was found in a creek that day of the report form Paris texas.
