"When asked about the bruising, Kameron claimed it was from the infant hitting his head on a hard portion of the interior of the crib," said the affidavits. "Leyla also reported Kameron has extreme anger issues and has recently killed several dogs by strangulation."

Pierson was charged due to knowing about the injuries and refusing to seek medical attention for the infant for three days, according to police.

"Leyla reported the infant became more 'fussy' over the next couple of days, but she thought it was because he was teething," said the arrest affidavits.

In the document, officials state that when police were called to Brady Station Apts dispatch advised that a baby inside the apartment was unresponsive and not breathing. Kameron Gammage had made the call.

Police say the infant had heavy bruising and swelling to the left side of his face and head. There were also multiple smaller bruises along the top of the head.

Officers said the inside of the apartment was dirty with apparent dog feces on the floor and other items throughout the inside. Both Gammage and Pierson admitted to attempting to clean some of the mess prior to law enforcement arriving.

The father, Gammage, claimed the bruising was from the infant hitting his head on a hard portion of the interior of the crib. The mother, Pierson reported she frantically went to Kameron and woke him up to notify him about the infant when she woke up to find him not breathing, but Gammage seemed uncaring, according to the affidavit.
Father’s charge upgraded to capital murder in death of baby

He then admitted that he had “accidentally” dropped the baby while throwing him up and down to stop him from crying after he and Pierson had smoked marijuana Saturday, the affidavit said.

Gammage “remained unemotional and seemed to lack care about the incident throughout contact,” investigators wrote.

In addition to the charges in connection with his son’s death, Gammage was also charged with one count of sexual assault against a child.

According to a report from Odessa CBS affiliate KOSA-TV, a grand jury in Andrews County on May 19 indicted Gammage on the sexual assault charge and a warrant for his arrest was issued. The offense in question reportedly involved a 15-year-old victim and took place between 2019 and 2020.

District Court Judge Denn Whalen on Thursday sentenced Kameron Gammage to life in prison plus 20 years for killing 7-month-old Logan Gammage, records reviewed by Law&Crime show.

Pierson is currently scheduled to appear before Judge Whalen for an arraignment hearing on Oct. 10, records show.

I wasn't able to find anything newer for Pierson.
