Where did you read that the 16 year old was a boyfriend? I don’t believe they have said that anywhere.

That came from early reports. Some said "male friend" and some said "boyfriend." It was also reported that Hawkins' friends (not named) said she and Isaac split up over her involvement with Franke.

Substitute "close male friend" for boyfriend and my comment still stands. They were clearly closer than acquaintances. Franke accompanied her to the hospital with the girls when Hawkins claimed they were at a park with the girls and both collapsed after smelling flowers.

The one year old and two year old girls died last night at University Hospital in San Antonio.Rusty Hierholzer, the Sheriff of Kerr County, about sixty miles northwest of San Antonio, says Amanda Hawkins, 19, and her 16 year old boyfriend, brought the little girls, aged 2 and 1, to Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville Wednesday afternoon, and claimed the girls had 'collapsed while smelling flowers' at a nearby park

It's that time of the year again.

I will never believe that anyone "accidentally forgot" their young children in the backseat of a car (but they never forget their cell phones).

I'm sorry but this makes no sense at all. Yes, the 16 year old boy should have done something. However, many 16 year old boys know zilch about kids. Maybe he turned on the car for himself when he was in it, then secured it when he left. Maybe they really didn't make any noise.

EVEN IF THEY DID, their MOTHER is the one who knew for sure they were in there and refused to let them out. What about the friend who wanted to bring them in? Why aren't they charged?

The MOTHER should be charged with murder before anyone else. This wasn't a momentary lapse because of a change in routine. This was intentionally leaving your two precious babies in the car to cry and then bake to death.

Maybe if they were both charged with murder.... but just him? Not okay.

Wow! Yes, there's a lot more in the article and definitely worth reading. What an evil, selfish woman.

This sums Hawkins up:

"There's not a day that goes by that I think about what I should have done," Hawkins said. "It's heartbreaking, and it will affect me for the rest of my life."

I me, my, what I feel what I want. She's affected for the rest of her life? Yeah but only because she'll spend much of it in prison. I hope she's too old to bear any more kids when she gets out. Bah. Good riddance.
