GUILTY TX - Andreen McDonald, 29, found deceased, Bexar County, 1 Mar 2019 *husband arrested*

LE seemed optimistic when the burnt remains were found, that they had found Andreen. I think when Andreen's remains are found, they will be in a similar condition.

It definitely started out strong, way stronger than many cases right off of the bat. I hope justice results.

It is awful.... and it seems to be happening more often (JMO), that while LE is searching for a known case of a missing person, they come across a body that “may” be who they are searching for, to have it turn out to be the body of someone else, that they sometimes don’t know they should be searching for.... scary and sad.
This has happened in roughly 75% of the cases I've followed. For that reason, I wait for confirmation before getting my hopes up. May Andreen be found very soon.

FBI: 'Don't give up hope' in Andreen McDonald case
The FBI is continuing to ask the public for help in the case of missing mother Andreen McDonald. There has been no trace of the San Antonio businesswoman for over months, and investigators believe she is dead.

[...]

Special Agent Michelle Lee said that, as time passes, it does become more difficult for investigators. FBI agents are helping out the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, which is heading up the case.

"We continue to care and will find closure for Andreen's family," Lee said.

[...]

The agency has the resources to help in this investigation, including experts in violent crime and criminal behavior. The FBI also has a group called the Evidence Response Team, which has experience in major investigations.

"They have worked the two Fort Hood shootings, the Sutherland Springs shooting, the Austin bombing—numerous high-profiles cases this team has worked," Lee said.

Lee couldn't talk specifics on Andreen's disappearance, but wanted people to know something in particular.

"We just want to remind the public to not give up hope," Lee said. "We are never going to give up. We will always remember. We are going to be right there with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office to do whatever we can to bring this case to closure."

Groundbreaking technology breathes new life into cold cases for Sheriff's Office

"This particular camera has a range that we can utilize which is something we didn't have before,” said Robinson. “We can detect a shallow grave up to two years after an individual has been buried."

The camera uses near infrared technology, formerly used by farmers, is now being used to find grave sites.

"What happens as the body starts leeching out it fertilizes the soil so you end up with a ring of very healthy vegetation, and it becomes very apparent under near IR." Robinson said.

Missing mom Andreen McDonald's daughter can now get mental treatment, judge rules
The young daughter of missing mother Andreen McDonald will be able to receive mental treatment now that she is in the care of her grandmother, a judge ruled on Wednesday.

[...]

A little girl remains in the care of her grandmother, HS. Wednesday's ruling paves the way for Smith to make choices related to the girl's medical care and education.

"The little girl's mom is gone we don’t know where she is. The little girl's dad doesn’t have the right to be around her or talk to her," said HS's lawyer. "She’s eight years old and her parents of been taken away. That’s going to cause trauma."

I am glad that the daughter is being taken care of. I was worried that if she had to be with her father she would live a terrified life with him, if she did witness what they think she did. Not that she won't be fearful with him not there, but hoping that she is able to get some comfort from being with grandma.

Just checking on this case. I cannot believe she has not been found and sadly feel it likely she is not going to be, at least for some time to come, I hope I am wrong.

The fact he is free also bites. I hope the charges he does have are proceeding?

I still have hope she will be found and he will go away for life.

Husband charged in connection to Andreen McDonald's disappearance wants his cars back, records show
[...]

Andre McDonald's attorneys argued in three separate motions that the three cars belonging to him should be returned because they don't constitute contraband, according to the court documents.

Although human blood was found on Andre McDonald's Chevrolet Malibu, his lawyer wrote that the alleged blood has already been collected and sent for scientific testing.

His lawyer argued the Traverse should be returned to him because "there is no allegation that the Traverse has anything to do with" Andreen McDonald's disappearance.

The Jaguar should be returned because it was not seized from the home on Solitude Cove, like the search warrant specified. It was seized from the 6200 block of San Pedro Avenue and taken to a tow yard for "safe keeping," according to the motion.

Judge Frank Castro, who is presiding over the tampering case in the 399th District Court, has yet to rule on the motions, court records showed.

I also am bumping for Andreen.

More concerned about the cars than his daughter. Go figure. Not that he should be allowed near her.

I have a feeling Andreen is somewhere holding and meeting Maleah and Lizzy and more.

I also hope he rots.

I am a not nice person to say that but these are my wishes in this case at the moment.

Mostly though, I pray Andreen is found.

Is there GPS in these cars of theirs? That is how the body of a 71 year old wife was found when her 71 year old husband killed her. The GPS in the vehicle led them almost right to the body. He disabled it in his phone but was unable to figure out how to disable it in his Ford truck.

A case with little notice either:
Officials believe husband requested silver alert for wife to cover his tracks

Later it was found he had escort services in his phone and a "gf" who also was....

In addition, he made it sound as if his wife had dementia and went missing, a Silver alert was issued, all untrue per people who knew her.

Just saying I doubt Andreen's husband walked her body somewhere... However, if not in their own vehicles, there must be a buddy or a rental car...

Maybe he was smarter than 71 year old man and disabled the GPS...

Anyhow, a bump for Andreen, her mother and her daughter.

There are a few types of cases we see over and over again.

A child murdered by their caregiver, and a woman murdered by her spouse/SO (especially when trying to leave). It's tiring.

I am glad they figured out what was going on here so quickly, and that the daughter is now somewhere where she is receiving care and treatment.

Nonetheless I am saddened that Andreen has not been found yet. I am holding out hope she will be soon. Her family needs that, and so does her daughter.

I doubt this guy will ever give up her location, so it's up to continuous searching until that no longer becomes feasible.

So true. It strikes me now with Maleah's case that this is Texas and with Andreen here if I recall correctly they charged him quickly with tampering with evidence/her body I believe. Bond was reduced and he is now out.

In Maleah's case, they charged DV pretty quickly with tampering with evidence/her body, bond was set high, has now been lowered and he is only not out because no one has paid his lowered bond.

In neither case, this one older than the other, have murder charges resulted. In both cases, bond was lowered after an initial charge of tampering. Both cases are in Texas.

I do not really have a point except maybe to wonder if it is it really better to arrest right away on a lower charge? It makes me wonder. Once arrested, they generally lawyer up and there is no longer any talking to LE nor LE having a chance of talking to them further. Once in jail they cannot follow them or watch their actions and where they go.

Just thoughts. Two very different cases, both in Texas but some similarities with the initial charges.

In Maleah's case, they have her body and hopefully charges can still result for murder/DV.

Here, Andreen still has not been found.

Both cases though there is other evidence found in the home, etc.

I agree with you on this one, he is not going to give up the location.

Can the police legally monitor his house? As in bug it with microphones? Since he’s rumored to be living romantically with Andreen’s cousin I seriously hope this is happening. Both he and his new boo plus the lawyer all have a lot of NERVE if you ask me.. justice for Andreen, sooner rather than later, please!

RBBM, seriously? What a piece of work this one is.
